I have shipped my 4L65E before... Luckily a friend of mine bought a new one and the company shipped it in a custom foam molded box via Fedex... they shipped it without a bell housing or tail housing so when I blew mine up I stripped it of that stuff and put it in that box and dropped it off at Fedex. Cost me right around $95 to ship it one way.

Oh yes... triple bag that shit too, just incase there is any remaining fluids. Shipping companies don't like leaking packages.

What kind of box did you use? I would think the bottom would just fall out a normal box. Also ups said they only ship 100 pounds max normal ground shipping.

just used a thick enough box that fit the tranny's,packaging tape, ducktape. by the time i was done there was no flex in the box and got to the buyer with no issues. 100#'s eh? well maybe times have changed, this was a few years ago i did this and had no issues shipping threw ups. i dunno
