AH autocross this Saturday at the Greensburg-Jeannette Airport

The Allegheny Highlands chapter of the SCCA has an autocross this Saturday, September 25th at the Greensburg-Jeannette Airport. Here's the address:

    Greensburg-Jeannette Airport
1200 Airport Rd, Jeannette, PA 15644

    Map of the airport

This is the 1st event held at this airport and any support you all could provide would be welcomed. With enough interest and attendance this could become a new long term site for autocross in this area. I will be there with my '94 Cobra. For details on time, pricing, etc please follow this link:

That's just a few miles from my house. Too bad I have to work or I'd come check it out.

Wow, I had a blast today. My traditionally understeering pig of a mustang decided to oversteer today. It was a new experience but I liked it! All in all I came home happy which is a big change as the last few events I attended had me coming home all pissed off at the car and myself. I could have definitely driven better today but I am still happy overall. For you guys that missed it you missed one hell of a fun and quick course. I had the privilege of meeting Mark and he proved what I had suspected... the man can drive! He was near to top of the board with his cobalt on street tires... he beat me by I believe 2 full seconds!

I'll post up some videos later.

That's not bad, I guess its because he can keep his car in its power band and you can't because you would make too much torque and slide?

Thank you Paul, it was good to finally meet you too. You guys put on a fun event, hopefully you can make it out to Nelson's in a couple weeks. Sorry we had to take off without doing fun runs, would've liked to have gotten my 49. raw time clean! Had to settle for the 51.8, never had so much fun getting 3 OC's at an autocross in my life!

I was wondering if this airport course was faster than your average X course?

Is there any others around that aren't just tight obstacle courses?

2-3rd straights, hard braking, tight road course, etc.

LOL! Yes, it was MUCH faster than your typical autocross course. For legal and insurance reasons I won't say how fast but it was the fastest course I had ever been on. Pretty much any autocross at an airport will be fast. If you want fast, go to an event at Cumberland Airport with the national road autosport club... they have some high speed courses there as they do not follow SCCA rules regarding course layout.
