    Toyota FJ Cruiser

The girl that I'm talking to now is thinking about picking one of these up. She is pretty "outdoorsy" and lives an active lifestyle so it kind of fits her personality. Anyone on the board have one or have any experiences with them good or bad? Some days I really like them and then other days not so much... plus I still have a hard time of buying non-American. Below is one identical to the one she wants...

they are nice, but a 66-76 bronco can be had done up for a lot cheaper, and the cool factor is way beyond the FJ......

My wife and I had one for two years. I thought it was a great vehicle. Traded it in for a larger SUV with four doors to get the little one in easier. Alot of power and just a cool SUV to drive. Held it's value like crazy!

I'm a Jeep man at heart, so I would suggest to her a Rubicon. Stock comes with Dana 44 axles, stock lockers and other goodies. A few guys on a local off roading site I used to belong to had Fj's. They seemed very capable wheeling in mud and rocks. I would get an old school FJ cruiser and build it up!

Exactly my thoughts as well. They have frame issues that aren't all that well known.
