PM Ron89 if he doesn't chime in on this thread. He works at Honda so he has driven them before.
I think it is a cool car. I have my 1986 5.0 Mustangs. My primary transportation is a 1991 Honda Civic which I picked up in Florida brand new for $10K (Remember thoses days). That little Hybrid looks cool and should be dependable. I have 221K on the Odometer without ever having the heads off th car.
I think as far as styling and engineering its a really nice combination. However from a performance versus economy standpoint, there are other cars either already here or coming out that will be better.
For 20 grand, id buy it.
its kinda neat but im not a big fan of the design. dont like the front end at all...kinda wish they made it look a little more like the old CRX's
gayer than AIDS
but on a serious note, I think it's not great for high MPG and it's not a very good sports car.. and it can't hold much... and it looks stupid.
starts at 21k, weighs 2700lbs makes 110whp with the battery charged (http://www.crzforum.com/forum/engine...-crz-dyno.html).
I'll pass.
Got 37mpg last night in my Volkswagen CC coming home from visiting my girlfriend's parents with her (over ~50 miles or so)...
A Ford Focus gets better gas mileage, is cheaper, seats 3 more people.
A Fiesta gets way better gas mileage, is cheaper, seats 3 more people...
I see absolutely no reason to consider this car. It's an insult to the original CRX.

If you're looking for an alternative energy hybrid, you could spend half the money and get twice the fun in something that is actually practical:

I must be getting old, none of these new cars have any appeal to me. They all look too "family" car to me.

I just read in Motor Trend that the Fusion Hybrid 4-door auto gets better milage and is faster!
- 1988 Mustang GT - 5spd. - 12.09@117 Procharger just added! Times???
- 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi - 13.57@ 100.9mph(75shot)
- 2006 Eclipse GT - 6spd. - wife's - 14.09@ 97.9mph (CAI only)
- 2010 Focus SES - wife's - 37.8mpg!
Honda design and quality far exceeds a Fusion. I have a 221000 Mile Civic which never had the head off to attest to that. Fusion would be a nice 5 year car. If you trade them alot, Fusion would be fine. I like the Fusion but I buy stuff and keep it for years. My 1986 Mustang GT is great but I do not drive it everyday like the Honda was driven.
Only sporty about it is the handling. Most mags have pulled.85g's in cornering. Other than that its slow as piss and pulls down like 35mpg's. At 20k bucks to start you could a fiesta for less..add a few mods..still have a warranty and have more room and handle better. But is it better looking...ehh i say so. The CRz is ugly as sin. Just for that money theres other small cars i would consider...oh it helps the enviroment..no more or less than any other econobox when you look at all the facts.
2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara hard top..frickin loaded!
2010 Gt 5spd....WIFE's car.
No thanks. I'd rather go the new fusion route. And I'd be willing to bet it lasts longer then you would think.
03 Cobra=slow show car...

B.s. Have had several 300K mile fords in the family with all origional drive trains never opened. Hondas are good cars, but the gap in quality these days is nil.
Having that said, if the CRZ came in a regular gas version with the K20 in it, then it would be cool. hybrids arent for me.
