Well, I just got back from Orlando and it was an awesome racing event. My friends go down every year and this was the first time I was able to go. Speedworld has a great payout for all 5 of the classes (Pro, Outlaw 10.5, Drag Radial, Heavy Street, and Import) which attracts racers from all over the country. We went down with 2 cars this year in Pro and didn't do as well an anticipated.
The first car was Mike Moran's old 99 Monte Carlo (Big Stuff car) which we equipped with a 632 BBC with twin 93 mm Precision turbo's. We were hoping to back up Moran's old time of 5.99 @ 255mph in the 1/4 but it didn't happen. The track wasn't there for us and the car ended up in the wall at the 500' mark. It very well could be totaled so we'll see what happens. At least the driver was ok.
The other car is a 2010 RJ Racecars (Rick Jones) '69 Camaro with a 655 BBC with twin 91mm Precision turbo's. The car is brand knew and has already gone 3.91 in the 1/8'th so we were expecting some numbers out of this car as well. We qualified 9'th with a 6.63 at 225mph but unfortunately broke the input shaft of the Turbo 400 in the 2nd round.
I'm confident once the cars get tuned in they'll be at the top of the pack. I'll post up some pictures when I download them or check out their website.
