I was going to go with UPR. I've used there rear suspension stuff for some time and like it. Just went a different direction and it came back to bite me. I hate fixing things that shouldn't need fixing. Now if it's an issue I caused. Then no big deal fixing it. Like intake pipe elbow being off as throttle body not even close to stock position due to different intake/elbow. That is on me not the mfg of turbo kit.

I've used three different k-members over the years.
D&D Performance piece on my 2000 Mustang GT, fit perfect and not a single issue with anything. No idea if they even make it anymore.
QA1, A-arm postioning was all kinds of fn stupid. Had to use Fox body length arms to even align the car. QA1 is now redesigned and I have no idea what they are like. They look nothing like the prior units.
Now the Team-Z unit which other than the steering mount issue is really nicely made.

Got the last of the sound deadening off floor and cleaned. Course the normal heat gun scrapper to get thick crap off. Then spayed bug & tar remover on and let sit for good 30 min. Way less effort getting more off. Then lastly wire wheels for my 1/4" impact gun. Which worked great besides the mess I made. So kept vacuum nice and close. I can start the thru-floor sub frame connectors next weekend now that this is out of the way. Just need to pull dash and get location for holes figured out. So I know where from outriggers need to go. Also pulled header panel off and got it painted/cleared.

Seems Photobucket got rid of the CEO that nearly broke the internet. New guy has gone back to pricing that is much better. I always liked PB until that tried to extort everyone. Now I wish I didn't delete my account as I could have fixed all my broken picture links. 10gb, 3rd party hosting/linking, $20/year like it use to be.

So it begins. Got nothing done really today. Started on driver side as I try to figure where to cut and sometimes wish I stopped earlier. Need to add some metal back in at rear seat mount. Not sure if rear outrigger should just go out 90* from main connector or angle it. Front I need to pull dash and get holes drilled. Then drop a string down to see where those outriggers go. I have a vague idea but not wanting to put something in and be off.

Using 2x2 for main and 2x3 for outriggers. Making everything in pairs as I go. So both mains are cut to length and shape. Since they stick above floor maybe 1/2" ahead of seat. I have front notched so it will taper to floor pan. I can see doing carpet will be fun to do behind seat when time comes.

Yah so real life pulled me away for way too many months. Finally got chance to focus on this long overdue project and get some crap done. Thru-floor connectors done except front outriggers. Need to get front bars fitted to see where on floor they are going. Main hoop is fitted and waiting on some more pipe. Which I should have by Thursday.

Need to order a tube bender as I need to bend front bars some more. Few other tubes I want to make etc. So will get one ordered this week. Then back to knocking out this roll cage.

Spent some time this weekend cleaning more of that tar deadener out of trunk. I really hate cleaning that crap off floor. Fixed my upper torque box reinforcements. I just had them bolted in and fixed their positioning and welded in. Cleaned up brackets that go under car and painted them up. Now just need new hardware for them.

Encase anyone didn't know. There is a Metal Supermarket location in Cranberry Twp. Right off Thomson Park Dr close to Rochester Rd. Got quoted and picked up some more tubing at lunch. Nice people there.

10ft of 1.625x.120 DOM and 15ft+ of 1.25x.120 DOM all Cold rolled C1026. Dash bar, seat bar, bracing for torque boxes.

Not sure what I think of these struts I bent up. Have them going thru back rest. 3" past I have them bent 24* to outside then back and down to floor above frame. Almost had them hit spots I wanted. Down bend is 65* but I think it may be too much. May redo out of the DOM I have. Main hoop has room to drop 2.5" once off outrigger. Had two attempts on first strut. Screwed up first attempt as I didn't allow enough extra tube and got to last bend. It was too short for die guide and end got crushed. Now practice scrap to weld on

I can cut out back rest below tubes to I can pull everything forward to weld to main hoop once tacked.

Project Take FOREVER got something friggn done.

Redid the rear struts out of DOM and I must be getting better as I nailed the spots I was aiming for on floor. Also made brace to go between at bend behind rear seat bulkhead. Waiting on rear interior parts from Scottrod but next is front roof bars. Need to pull dash and get holes cut. Then figure out the mess under driver side of dash. So much crap needs moved so bar can pass thru. Oh and notching the tubes makes the biggest mess ever. Those little fn metal flakes go everywhere.

It may look sweet when done but I will say not enjoying installing it. Rear package tray is simplest thing to do. Just needed to cover some body work just below rear window glass. It angles up and tray does not cover it. So I used some left over speaker carpet I had from doing trailer walls and 3M 77 glue for metal below glass. It worked out real nice. Still battling with quarter pieces and rear bulk head. Needless to say with upper torque box reinforcements, bulk head will not fit properly(which was mentioned when I ordered it) So trying to see how I can modify these without screwing them up. I have an idea which should work. Want bulkhead in so rear struts can pass thru cleanly. Then clamp it up tubes a few inches. So I can pull everything forward to weld.

Been some time again and let me say I should have just bent up the entire cage from the start. Was getting roof bars fitted and passenger side I got leg trimmed and was just enough to get a 1/2" notch cut in Main hoop end. Was usable but could have been a touch higher to headliner. Got around to driver side and it ended up. Being 1/4" short to main hoop before even cutting a notch. Pulled both out and set side to side and driver was a few inches shorter. They left nothing extra. Needless to say I may have made Yosemite Sam blush. So tired up rolling back dash put bar in. Roll back pull bar out over and over to fit. Then had this Saturday.

So Sunday I grab my last 10ft of DOM I had and cutoff 78" and began making the roof bar myself. Friggn perfect other than adding 2* to one of my bends. Sits nice and tight to headliner. Can sit in seat and move head sideways with zero contact. Enough left over to make eyebrow bar out of the DOM. Only part of the Comp Eng kit used will be main hoop and door bars at this point. Ran up to the Metal Supermarket at lunch to grab another 80" for passenger roof bar. With all the bends and rotations figured out. Should take all of a couple minutes to make and get fitted to car. Get it done along with eyebrow bar. Then all I have to do is fit up the door bars, seat belt bar and D bars. Unless I decide to add rocker bars. Which means another trip to get tubing.

Side note. I did get the Scott Rod stuff fitted. Installed with rear cage struts at same time so no cut in bulk head. Sucked but worth it. Tweaked Quarter trim to fit more like stock near front top area at B pillar and also worth it. Looks real good and will get pics up once cage is done and painted. Which I can say will be very very soon

Well the engine actually started years ago. Was to be a blower setup. Then got close to 11's NA and chased that. Sold blower and decided to go with a turbo setup. Then family crap hit the fan and I pick at this when free time allows.
