So I made an air/oil separator. Another one of these things that turns into an all day project that shouldn't. Still need to make up a bracket and it will bolt to front of passenger side head. Just need to finish cleaning it up and painting it after making bracket. I really need to look into a TIG welder again that can do aluminum.

2ea -10an inlets and a -12an outlet. Baffled inlets to direct downwards. Airflow then passes thru a stainless perforated screen, packed coarse stainless steel wool in. Then another piece of perforated screen. Outlet will go to electric vac pump and there be a small filter on outlet of pump.

It always takes longer doing that stuff than you would think.

That only major welding/fab project that landed on schedule was doing paxtonshelby's rocker panels on his crew cab F150. That went very well.

We just finished the build on our son's Ranger. Instead of using the stock tank we put a cell under the bed. He thought it would be a simple job. Though it was easy it still took more time because I wanted it 99% hidden and to look a certain way.

So got bracket made and welded on. Painted with VHT Wrinkle Black, Broke the stupid drain peacock when wrench slipped. Cracked it at stem.....sigh. Got hoses made up. Now to make a few brackets and weld some tabs onto turbo bracket to support hose from driver side. Need to get a different fitting to attach hose to pump. The 90* needs to be something in the 120-150* range. Also I could route -12 hose to side but would need a 30-45* fitting to go to bulkhead fitting. Outlet of pump I have a small K&N crank case filter attached.

Came out pretty nice overall. Now to get IAC sorted out and intake can be bolted down for good.

This project amazes me. Love the attention to detail and wow it is coming out gorgeous!

What power numbers and ET numbers do you expect to run once she’s all done?

It's taking way more time then I ever imagined but I am happy with how it's turning out. May not be the best but I know I did it and to the best of my abilities (every time I look at new tools my wallet says, oh hell no). I do have some Mach1 quarter windows and sail panels to put on car. Just need to clean up and paint them. Thing I really want to do is put on a Mach1 hood and shaker. Plan is to feed turbo from the shaker and just make a carbon fiber base to mount to intake.

My original goal was something to run 10.50s. I'm pretty sure with what I have it can go quicker then that goal. I want to see how it runs with turbo I have first but eyeing up a few alternatives. I'd be happy with 550-600 at wheels which should be fun.

I am stupid close to loading up a starting tune and seeing how it runs.

So everything normal while working on car. A whole lotta nothing got done compared to what I had planned in my head

Tried to finish off vacuum setup and of course the 120* fitting wasn't enough. Need a 150* fitting.....fml

So as normal I try to do things the hard way when something so simple is staring me in the face from my scrap pile. Had this stupid way too much work way of wanting to mount my IAC. Surprisingly some common sense got in the way of the grand plan and was faster and easier to do. Had some extruded 1/8" aluminum angle. Cut out a piece and got holes drilled where needed, painted and mounted to plate under intake. Couple nut rivets and 6mm screws to hold it in place. Then found that the outlet hole on the IAC is perfect size for a 3/8"npt tap.

So now just need to order a few more fittings and get a fittings welded to back of upper intake elbow. Just going to use -10 hose in and out from IAC as I have just enough left over. Just need to move IAT sensor from where I have it, to where MAF was at.

Picture (blue AN fittings just show where I am hooking up to for outlet to intake)

I got the IAC setup finished and it worked out perfect. Still need to relocate IAT to MAF location. Just need to torque intake done but it's not coming back off again. Forgot to get pic but from the one I had the idea of running injector and coil wires over fuel rails. Held in place with the carbon strips and some clips. I decided against that and was able to keep wiring routed low and up to injectors/coils. So very little ended being seen.

Got 4 brackets I need to fab up.

    Very nice work.

Colts Ranger is NO WHERE near as clean under the hood....I mean NO WHERE near. Honestly it's about as messy as a stock foxbody under the hood. But I had to make several one off brackets and route certain hoses/lines in unorthodox locations. He never realized that sometimes it just takes time to set and look at something to figure out how you want to make/route it. Even after that the design will likely change halfway through.

Got my IAT sensor mounted to spot where MAF was. 36 grit flapper wheel to knock mount off the tube. Welded an aluminum plate over slot and put a bung in place. Decided the polished tube just didn't work for me. Sanded down tube with 320 and painted with VHT Black Wrinkle paint.

Taped off one end leaving just a small opening for air to escape. Shoved heat gun in other end, set to 200* for an hour to cure paint faster. Gave it a nice tight finish similar to how my intake came out. Pic is after 10 minutes.

Not much happened with car since week before Christmas. Had caught the vid and that put a halt to finishing things up. Then spent last few weekends just relaxing and watching playoff football with my dad. Instead of spending every friggn day at work for work or messing with car on weekends. This has let me think on the fuel some more. As I don't think what I have is going to be good enough. So while trying to piece that all together. Some thing sI bought back a few months ago off Ebay.

Got these off a '04 Mach1. Cleaned up and shot primer two weeks ago and put two coats of color on and 3 medium coats of clear yesterday. Course like normal when I start spraying some clear. Dust decides it is the perfect time to say HI! Never when it's primer or color, just clear I'll wet sand these next weekend.

One issue with buying used parts that come from California. They are sun baked to hell and back. So the hard rubber trim on front edge of quarter glass was a mess. So got it worked and cleaned up. Just need to get some paint on it and should look like new. First pic is before and last is ready for paint.

Now for this weekends fun. Cut spare tire well out and add some supports. I have a 5 gallon fuel cell to put in. Along with a 400lph Holley pump. Can get rid of the rest of the stock fuel crap.

Quarter windows repaired. I'd give it a 99% back to the way they should look. Lots of Gold body filler and glazing putty plus elbow grease. Multiple coats of filler primer. Then topped with a satin black paint. Wet sanded with 1500 and rubbed out with Presta Ultra Cutting Cream. I do think it worked out real nice. Especially with how bad they were to begin with.

Still need to see about polishing the glass. It was horrible also. Cleaned with Acetone, then window cleaner and still took a fresh razor blade to get all the dirt off the glass. Was so sun baked the the window tint that was on the inside the perfectly clear.

I had removed all of the remaining stock fuel system. Finally used a plasma cutter I got from Jegs 4 years ago for first time. Like WTF was a I waiting for. This made things so easy. Cut out spare tire well and most things welded to it and to frame rails. About 51.5lbs off car. Added in some 1" square tubing. So between that and fuel cell & pump that is only 15.22lbs. Still need to order filters, fittings and hose for supply/return.

So open under car with spare tire well and gas tank gone. With new bracing in place I still have a few things to cut out. Need to drill holes in mounting tabs and new metal over opening.
