Car is still together. Actually charged the battery, put air in front tires and drove it some sunday. Going to retard cams this week some and give another shot at 11's NA

Well rotating assembly is done. So glad the file the ring, check the ring, file the ring, check the ring, rinse repeat is over :) With 2v heads I'm looking at 9.5:1 and with the 4v heads I'm looking at 8.6:1 compression

Little time with bead blaster I cleaned up the 4v front cover. Needs lil more cleanup. Because umm well one just never knows ;)

Well not much on new motor currently but I am sort of ready for the track to open.

Oil and filter changed, only put 5 qts in it.
Retarded cams 3 degrees and that made a huge difference in how the car runs and drives. My tune was written for the cam specs and I had the cams advanced 3 degrees setting them at 110*ICL. Car just idled odd, exhaust seemed rich and would kinda burn my eyes sitting at a light too long. It ran decent at track but seemed to have lost the top end pull it had when I first had cams in with stock heads. They were setup at 113*ICL. Car had lost 2-3mph running consistant 110mph vs the 112-113mph it had been running pre-head change.

Now with a simple 3 degree change it idles much much cleaner, exhaust no longer has that gas smell to it. The drive home it even runs much better. Now to take some passes and see if it runs as good as I think it is. Who knows maybe my damn 11sec pass was in there all along. Here to hoping.

Intake on the way. Ended up going with the Edelbrock Victor. Not sure on ordering an elbow from 6061 without the IAC mount as I'm going to remote mount the IAC. Or maybe try the Edelbrock elbows.

Now to pull trigger on the fittings and fuel rails.

Try the edelbrock elbow, they have internal divider to help with distribution in the sigle plane, or run a 4-hole spacer under a standard elbow (best if you have room).

I'm looking at the 3849 as it has a nice radius into the intake and the divider you mentioned. Plus looks like it can be mounted facing front or to the side. Front facing would be nice as I could route intercooler tubing easier. That and its half the cost of the sheetmetal elbow.

Yep, thats a good one Ed.
My tuner was adamant about wanting to improve distribution on the single plane intake.
Edelbrock has full measurements available on their site BTW.

Now have the intake. Had to cancel from first place and lucked out with Summit getting them in stock quick.

Trying to get intake setup to use on car now. So to see what kinda gains I may get from intake only I made up an adapter plate to bolt my upper elbow on out of 1/4" steel plate. Just need to check port opening of elbow to hole in plate. Hoping to not have to massage the opening any more. Also using a 1" spacer underneath to help with airflow to cylinders. Only a temporary setup as I won't be using the stock type elbow or throttle body. I had gotten a bunch of fittings and hose for fuel but FPRS adapter wasn't going to work how I would like as it would be into firewall. So ordered more fittings and hose this time -8 stuff as first group was mostly -6 which was smaller than I wanted to use. just need to return all the -6 parts. Gotta plan for future of fuel system.

Should have this on friday evening with more pics.

    Spacer and adapter plate

Sweet Ed! Can't want to see what that dies for you on its own. Won't make Friday, but let's hope for some good air Saturday.

All damn day. That what I did all day a stupid intake. Still have minor issues like a brand new -8 straight hose end that is weeping fuel from swivel nut.

Made room and was nice to see ports on head still cleanish. Had nice lake of oil in bottom of stock intake.

    Edelbrock on.

All on less the 1" spacer. I didn't feel like cutting and splicing wires to get stuff hooked up. In the end the car does seem to drive good with no noticable loss power down low. It does seem to really wake up above 3500 so be interesting next trip to track. Sits lil higher then stock as I had issues with back part of the Harwood hood hitting throttle arm. The egr crap has got to go as it was a royal nightmare.

Went to Summit after work yesterday. Returning all the -6 hose and fittings I didn't need. Grabbed new -8 straight hose end which seemed to get rid of the weeping fuel issue. Not sure what is wrong with first fitting as it looks good with no nicks or scratches in seating surface.

Also grabbed this for the blower. Thing is big compared to stock type elbow. Will mate up a 90mm TB to it probably from Accufab. They have ones with clamp system to hold tubing to TB which seems pretty cool.

Opening is 3 5/8" compared to the 3" of my C&L

Well since this had got pushed back with trying to get 11's NA. I haven't touched it much but did some mockup with stock PI heads. Need to trim elbow about 1/8" to clear fuel rails. Probably going to trim top 1/2" off also. Going to use a Fox TB from Accufab. Just not sure on size at the moment. Need to drill and tap back of intake on both side for water fittings. Which is going to get plumbed under intake and into backside of waterpump. Heaterbox is coming out from under dash so need to let water out from back of heads.

Picked up few more things today. Head studs, windage tray - screened type, oil pan 7qt, and ATI Super Damper 7.5" 8 rib for a 15% overdrive for blower.

Think I may need to get this new motor done sooner than later. I think I may have actually hurt the motor without trying to race the car for once.

Took it to work yesterday and all was fine. Trip home not so much. Sounds off, runs rather odd below 2300rpm and then was making a rather odd thump randomly while idling in traffic. Easy to hear and feel with solid motor mounts. Checked all wiring, injectors plugged in, coils plugged in, crank sensor plugged in. 2 step connections all good.
