Yep big difference from Fox to SN95. Stock ratio is like 4.72:1. Rather amazing so little movement changes it so much.

    Just a rant.

Why with a 2004 vehicle is there a mix of bubble flare, inverted flare, metric fittings and standard fitting on brake lines in this day and age. Re-plumbing the front of car and it's enough to make me scream. Each line is just a mix of everything. Started getting flash backs to working on late 70's/early 80's GM cars

Ford carried parts of the system forward as they upgraded the rest of the system ... much older but my Capri had (repeat had) a mix of SAE and Metric as Ford rolled that out. My car is easier in some ways, if it’s engine it’s metric, if it’s car related it’s mostly SAE.

So finished with brake lines. Got manual steering rack in. Don't get me started on the Team Z placement of mounting points for rack. Too far to passenger side. Offset rack bushing to push it slightly to driver side and should go another inch really. Got things figured out for now and putting new steering shaft in and problem. It hits header tube now(stock did not). Got it all hooked but drags on tube. So not sure if try to flatten that tube on that spot or try getting point at fire wall dropped lower. That or cut mounting points for rack and just move them to where they need to go. Which I am thinking of doing.

Flaming River manual rack is 4.1 lbs lighter than stock power. Steering shaft is .6 lbs heavier.

Think I know why now. The rack is too low on k-member.

Made sure to verify dead center of steering within rack. After some measuring rack needs to go to driver side 3/4" It also looks like it should go up maybe 3/8". Now Team-Z make some nice stuff but if they spent an extra 5 minutes. None of this would need corrected afterwards. They centered the mounting points perfectly between control arms. When they should be set to driver side slightly. So the left side mount should be able to remain outside the main hoop of K. Moving it over will also move it up. The right side mount will need to pass thru the main hoop slightly. Should have it all corrected tomorrow.

It is a shame Team Z doesn’t test their own stuff. You guys shouldn’t have to put up with this stuff.

From what I found. It's been an issue for few years. Look at any picture of anyone elses K-members and it's obvious how they are setup to driver side. Ah well, live and learn.

Ah well it is corrected now. Got mounts cut off and repositioned and it sucked. Nothing worse than trying to do this while it's mounted in car and everything else in also. By moving 3/4", which is huge for steering. From center to full turn left or right it only moves 2.75". It also moved position up slightly on driver side. Passenger side I had to notch bottom of tube a little. Right now tie-rods are perfectly even with A-arms. Before even with bump steer kit tie-rods were going upwards.

Was talking to another member yesterday. His buddy is going through the exact same issues you, myself and countless others have. What’s really shitty is Dave has the same excuse he pulls from the can for everyone. “That’s impossible. These parts are made in a jig. Something is wrong with your setup”. I had to send stuff back to him and hopefully get the right stuff back. My buddies friend had to have his fixed locally as the one item was too big to eat the cost of sending back.

If if I ever did another FOX, I definitely would not be using team Z again. Sad to say too.

The excuse and that is all it is too. Isn't wrong. They can make all the k-members they want in that jig. With everyone being wrong because it's not setup properly. Sad is driver side mount is so simple to fix on their end. Passenger side would involve maybe one more step on their part.

One would think after this much time and enough complaints. One would get the hint maybe we need to look at this.

That is interesting about the team Z stuff. They're pretty well regarded.... But my UPR k member fits perfectly fine.
