    Hid help!

I just purchased new aftermarket HID's from DDM Tuning. I installed them yesterday and turned them on and off n everything worked fine. Well tonight I took my car out to see how they look out on the road for the first time and probably drove around for 30mins or so. Well when I got home and tried turning them off, they stayed lit so I had to pull out the in-line fuse that came with the product to get them to go out. I've had this same problem from a previous set of HID's that I bought from a different company. I don't know if there's some other relay or harness I need or whats going on. Anyone hear of this or have the same issue?

I have DDMs in my cobra, I haven't had any problems with them at all like you've mentioned though. Sounds like an electronic gremlin got to your headlightz :(

Was it a plug and play kit or a splice in kit?

Some of the DDM tuning kits are not wired correctly. You might verify that the + and - wires are installed in the correct locations. The last two sets from them I needed to switch the wiring around for them to work correctly.

I am confused though as you say it's plug and (pray) kit but then mention an in-line fuse. They usually will not have one on those type kits. Now the relay harness type kits come with a fuse..

There H13's so they are the high and low beam together. The fuse is connected in with the high/low controller box.

The fuse container looks like this #7, the positive wire and a wire that comes out of the high/low controller box runs into a single fuse like shown below. Whether you consider that an in-line fuse or not, i dont know, I'm not an electrician

I got in my car yesterday and turned them on n off n even drove around a little and now they work fine so i dont know whats going on. But like i said, i had this same problem before with another brand. I just didn't know if the S197's required some other relay or harness with these kits

I have a DDM kit in my VW and they work just fine. With the occurrence happening with other kits, I'd lean towards some electronic problem like Bo mentioned....
