Nice setup there! I really like the header. A lot of people don't like schedule 40 for some reason. Even though its heavy, everyone I've spoken to who has used it says its easy to weld and resists cracking fairly well.
The mockup looks like its coming along nice too. So you're converting back from 120 degree rotation to a 90 degree, eh? Won't that give you slightly better flow through there since you have more area than a 120 degree cut n weld? Its been a while since I followed turboford :)
I'll have to take pictures of the inside of both plenums, but no. It really isn't just a cut and weld ... on the 120 intake it is substantially ported / blended to change direction as it transitions from the round plenum behind the throttle body to the 4 runners of the intake. It's almost sculpture inside there :D
This is the inside of the 90 rotation ...
Then picture the "ribs" twisted for the 120* ... like I said, I'll get pictures when I take it off. The lower is also "knife edged to split the flow.
Lookin good Bob, and man that header looks stout, how much it weigh?
I need to start a winter upgrade thread, got some stuff starting up at Street Lethal.

PEOPLE HAVE MORE FUN THAN ANYONE
I havent weighed anything yet, but it isnt a lot heavier (mass) than the tube header ... It is surely as solid as anything can be build without it being cast iron ;)
Less talking more posting, lets get that going :D
Funny, I take pictures of about everything and don't seem to have any of my 120 upper either. Oh well, I will take some when it comes off for the "for sale" thread ;)
I thought I had things where I wanted them and took it to the car. Unfortunately my wastgate head was a little close to the lower radiator hose for my comfort. So I pulled it back appart and re-set everything.
I made up a little bracket to hold the wastegate where I wanted it for mock up and have everything re-fit now ...
The wastegate will be dumped right in front of the rack ... hopefully it will make a little fireshow on a pass :D
One more fit up on the car to make sure I didn't miss anything clearance wise, then off for final welding. I also ordered up the stuff to try thermal coating this myself ...

We will see how that comes out, but a few guys I know have had good luck with this stuff ... we will see how it holds up. I'm not really worried about the thermal part too much, more about keeping rust under control now that this is steel.
Should look similar to mine Bob, I'm not sure Dave Z. used but its held up fine, at least before the wrap.

jeez - you're really moving along! You'll be done by New Year's!
...so what are you going to do for the last 4 months of winter??
2014 GT Premium - Sterling Gray Metallic - MT82 - Track Pack - Glass Roof - Recaro seats - Spoiler delete
12.76 @ 114.04 bone stock. Koni yellow coil-overs, BMR watts, LCA and LCA relo brackets, Borla S-type axle back.
1966 Coupe - 331 stroker - Bullet custom roller cam - cam and motor installed and dyno tuned by Rodeheavers Hot Rod - Astro A5 - McLeod RXT - 486 to the wheels - more fun than my little tires can handle
1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - currently NOT on jackstands
Where'd you score that I/C?
LOL, well, I will be traveling a lot for work in January and February so I'm trying to get an early jump so I'm ready to go for March. Likey still going ot be down to the wire ot make the early races at places like Mason Dixon.
Treadstone Performance... They have really nice cores and made this one up to what I wanted.
Bob are you going to run a filter at the track?
I always run a filter. We tried a couple of times on back to back passes, with and without the filter and it made no difference for me. Now, in both cases it was pulling air under the hood from mostly the same location ... I am going to use 4" tubing and make up a cold air intake of some kind as I'm sure running it with 3" would be a restriction. Still TBD what I'm doing there.
Progress has been a bit slow ... was laid up a bit with my knee acting up, then the cold set in. Anyway, got some time in today, moved everything from my mock up engine to the car and did the final fit up. Header stuff is done and ready for final welding ...
Was also able to cut up my existing down pipe to work with the new turbo location and orientation. Part of the reason I stayed with a center mount header was so I could keep the V band off the turbo and a much nicer outlet off the turbo (stock location needs a tight elbow)
Ready to get everything finish welded, do some thermal coating, then this stuff will be ready to bolt on for the last time.
