Mine may be a bit different because mine is a 95 car but...

You can buy thermactor plugs. Lou may be able to hook you up with them but if not you can get them at Summit and other places. I run GT40P heads which do not have thermactor holes so I didn't have to do that part. Like these:

I traced all of the vacuum lines from the smog pump and capped/plugged them all and ripped them all out of the engine bay. Some went into the fender so I took off my plastic inner fender and put vacuum caps on the little rubber "tree" in there.

Take the pump out and all hoses/lines. You will have one hard metal line running to where your cats were. I had to support my transmission and remove the transmission bracket to get the hard line out of the car wihout destroying it.

I ran a smog pump eliminator pulley that I got on here used.
You can run a shorter belt and avoid the pulley if you want.
I ran the pulley because I eventually added a blower kit which assumed that a smog pump (or pump eliminator pulley) was there.
One caution about the eliminator pulleys is that the diameter of the pulley is smaller than that of the real smog pump pulley. So my blower belt was too long and I had to search out a new blower drive belt anyway.

    Good luck!

pull all the smog stuff off, whatever vacuum lines you disconnect put a piece of hose with a bolt on it. back of the heads pull that pipe off cut the ends off it and flip them around and bolt to opposite head(da backs are flat and will cover holes)use same 1/2" bolt to reinstall them. clamp another piece of hose w/bolt onto the pipe down on hpipe.

buy shorter belt unless you got the (not-needed) smog emil kit.

done this many times works great, (doesnt cost a thing if you got clamps/hose layin round) buyin belt is only cost.
