    Thumbs up Trailblazer SS

Picked up an AWD Trailblazer SS last night and I must say I'm rather impressed. I have been looking for a new DD the last few months and got a great deal on this one (IMO). It is a navy blue 06, loaded up with options, 1 woman owner, 100% stock, and only 28,000 miles. I got it outside of Johnstown last night and the roads were absolutely terrible so I was anxious to see how it would handle... but it had no problems whatsoever with the AWD. By the time I got back to Uniontown, the roads were dry and when I kicked it down, I was shocked at how well it moved for being so heavy. To 80mph it moves along great.

I had been looking for AWD Hemi Magnum, SRT8 Jeep, and TBSS. I think I'm going to be happy with my pic... because I like the idea of sitting up higher than the Magnum, it can tow up to 6500 lbs unlike the Jeep and was alot cheaper than any others that I have seen and it only has 30 less hp.

I know atleast 1 or 2 guys on here that have a TBSS... any particular things I should look out for or simple mods that are worthwhile? I don't want to do anything crazy to this as this will be my main DD. When the weather breaks, I'll try and get some pics once it is cleaned up.

A friend of mine that lives not too far from you in Hopwood has an AWD SS as a daily driver, he is up in Syracuse with it now, 4 snow tires on it and says it is a blast in the 30+ inches of snow they have up there.

They benefit greatly from using HPTuners to kill the torque management, but a lot of people worry about the transmission as apparently they are not too stout stock.

I love it, had it for three years now. Best vehicle I have ever had in the snow. I wish it was 2wd but the awd is cool too. I have a magnaflow catback, CAI, few other little things, and a great tune on it I had done in South Carolina

there ya go, I'm kinda a thread whore during the day, lol I recommend spending the money and getting the Corsa exhaust, also read about lowering the AWD models, if you go too low in the front the hubs will die at 300 mile. The rear is easy to lower just move the leveling bar and trick the ECU. pm if you have any ?'s -Bill

The 4L70 is very fragile in the AWD Traliblazers.

I would do another tranny cooler as my first mod.

so even though they have a decent tow rating, you still suggest that a tranny cooler be added?

+ a million on the aux trans cooler. I no longer have mine as I get a demo now at work but they are a lot of fun. I had a '07 AWD in white. I ended up adding a CAI, Corsa touring, Trans Cooler, Tuned ECM+TCM by Alvin at PCMforless, LS1 Electric fan conversion, and some more goodies.

Yea, I have an 05 SS Silverado and I absolutely love it as well. I haven't done too much to it yet, maintly due to the weak 4L60E trans. Next winter I plan on doing a cenverter and some other mods so at that time I plan on doing some trans upgrades. Mine goes great in the snow as well but it doesn't see the weather much any more. It sits in the back of the garage with the Mustang and 70 Charger R/T. Great purchase.

Wow - that's really sharp! Really nice to see one that isn't black. Don't get me wrong, the black is nice. But the blue with the chrome rims really looks great!!!
