    running lean

    Hey guys,

My 3 day old 2003 GT threw a code the other day so I took it to Advance Auto and ran the code. I believe it was P 107 (1 of 2) and P 107 (2 of 2). And it said that the car was running lean. So I take it that it is something with the air of fuel? I checked the engine and didn't see any vacuum lines or anything disconnected.

Any idea where to start? I didn't want to dis connect the battery because I didn't think that would make the problem go away.

So where should I start looking?

    Thanks!

If the code is actually P0107, here's a couple of things you can check out:

Lean codes are P0171 and P0172. If it has a cold air kit make sure the connections are leak free. If not check the air intake hose. A dirty or bad Mass air flow sensor could cause the problem also. It is also very common for rubber gaskets (Intake manifold or ?) to leak vacuum when cold and cause the codes. We use a smoke machine to check for vacuum leaks at work.

Could be several things but I agree with the last few, if you just bought it, they should fix it! Good Luck!

Thanks Mike, I just haven't had time lately with work and school. I actually thinking about getting in contact with you to look at and see whats going on with it since your the Stang god. But thanks to Verizon and 2 messed up replacement phones I have been cut off from the world for over a week!

I want to get this resolved.

Why drive all the way here for something the seller should fix? Besides, Mike does not do general auto repair.

Take it back to where it was bought from. Time is ticking and you have already wasted almost a week for nothing......
