I think its all in what you like. stock for stock the fox is lighter so it will be faster. but it doesnt take many mods to make it fast. My car ran 13.7s NA and i know it could do better due to it bogging real bad from haveing to much grip. It could probilly run mid 13s the way it sits NA and it still has the stock E7 heads on it.

IMO, you get the best of both worlds, the new body style, better brakes, way better looking than the fox's, and you still get the 5.0.
I had my stock longblock cobra running high 12's on drag radials before I threw my blower on, so I would not say they are slow. It made 265rwhp & 308 rwtq w/ just bolt-on's like exhaust, maf, underdrive pulleys,etc...
Some of the faster 94-95's are right here on these boards...
Rio94gt, killercanary, myself, Tom, w/ the white cobra, troy, and im sure there are others that I cant think of right now.
I wouldnt get rid of my 94 Cobra for anything, I plan to keep it forever!!!

A few years back I had a good time 1 quarter mile at time with a 94 GT I owned. It was a factory NON-A/C example with a manual trans and 3.08's out back. Three mods (remove serpentine belt, delete air horn, and adv. timing were performed to the 5.0L. Other than those mods no weight was dumped. Sway bars remained, spare tire, jack and the factory wheels with factory sized rubber at all 4 corners were also intact.

On a favorable night late in the season at PRP the 94 GT clicked off numerous high 13 sec. passes with those three mods. When I first procured this example of a SN-95 Mustang I was told "you'll be lucky to run high 14's with it, there dogs" Well, there is such things as factory ringers and maybe this one was built on a wednesday. In any event, Ford did put some more poundage in those models and I will agree that a Fox body 87-88 speed density coupe would put a couple on the 94-95 GT's. However, the last two years of the factory 5-liter Mustangs are no slouch.

No such thing as a junk cobra, if fox bodys weighed what the SN 95 weighed they would be lucky to run 16's

The sn-95 Cobra is prob. worth more than a 96 GT in $ but it depends on what you want.

and I agree with Pure Stock-- speed density coupes rock

I think that the 94/95s are the best of both worlds, they look a lot smoother and got the 5.0 in them.. If i wasnt getting a bike i would def be keeping mine but i decided to get a bike this summer so the 95 gotta go
