SLOW ASS JUNK! Buy a FOX if you want another 5.0L car.
look for a 96-98 if you want an SN-95 cobra

The 94-98 cobras are the best looking mustang IMO. I would like to have a 94-95 cobra. I would only pay about $1000-$1500 more for the cobra than the same year GT though. More than that and I would just swap the front bumper cover and the brakes and have a very similar car to start modding![]()

I think its all in what you like. stock for stock the fox is lighter so it will be faster. but it doesnt take many mods to make it fast. My car ran 13.7s NA and i know it could do better due to it bogging real bad from haveing to much grip. It could probilly run mid 13s the way it sits NA and it still has the stock E7 heads on it.

I want a SN95 cobra for my drivetrain sooooooooooo bad
The sn-95 Cobra is prob. worth more than a 96 GT in $ but it depends on what you want.
and I agree with Pure Stock-- speed density coupes rock![]()
Real nice examples are few and far, but they are out there. The SN-95 chassis is a great platform (just a little more portly than a fox)
The stigma out there is that they are dogs. Well, A LOT to do with that is the driver's ABILITY. IMHO they are not far behind a light weight fox. With some weight reduction and the *correct* mods i.e., 10 minute tune-up they can be a formidable contender.

No doubt, *if* the driver is on his or her game they could put one in the 13's. Full weight, radial tires, oem factory right down to the air horn.
I've flogged a 1st gen 4.6 5-speed vs. a 94 5.0L 5-speed both cars in OEM form and my results show a consistent .3-.5 sec. differential between the two. 60' times were *very similar* and shift rpm was maximized. Testing was also done in a variety of air quality conditions.
The 5.0L was the quicker/faster of the two. That was *not* a Cobra 5.0L that is rated @ 235 FWHP. Which is an under-rated figure.
