Installed Super Snake Louvers // CS Side Scoops

Bought both off of Shelby's part website... Both are for the Super snake, but I believe the scoops are for the California special as well...

I did this on a warm day in November with a hair drier and rubbing alcohol... the day before I went back to Afghanistan, I noticed the driver side CS Scoop is showing about a 1/4" gap where I can see the 3M tape.

The other stroke of bad luck I had was when I was tinkering with my exhaust set up. I installed a American racing header H-pipe with Bassani street mufflers (46075). I was so excited to go for a ride, I didn't notice the rear valance came in contact with the muffler body and melted a bit... I have since found out Bassani now makes a new kit, but the instructions in the kit clearly stated they were for the GT500... Would appreciate any comments on my Valance woes..

Nice car! Unfortunately the SS scoops are known for their fitment problems... and it may get worse when the sun hits them. Some fit perfectly, while others have the gap issues.

Too bad about your valance- unlike some other cars, the GT500 valance is part of the lower rear bumper, and not a single panel. No part of the exhaust should be within 1/2” (width of a finger) of the valance or, as you know, melting can occur…

I’ve installed many exhaust set-ups on my GT500. There are several ways to adjust for proper fitment… bending the hangers, adjusting the axle-back clamps, adjusting the cat-back (mid-pipe) clamps, sliding in or out the mid-pipes, and/or tail pipes, etc. It is more critical for 4” tips, but adjustments can be made very easily for a perfect fit.

The valance damage is not real noticeable, but it'd bug me as well. Check ebay, you may be able to pick up a rear bumper for a reasonable price- if lucky, blue...

I just had bad luck doing mods in October/November... I found the JLT filter has been rubbing against the hood insulation... I cracked the radiator cover while doing the pulley swap... Then soon after I realized I had the wrong attachment for the pulley puller on and had to retap the pulley hub... Needless to say, I should just start smoking regularly at home instead of only over here...

Found a rear cover on latemodelrestoration.com for $350 before shipping... Just need to find the part number for stripes and Ill be set.

Seems wrong to pay that much to replace a bumper cover... but its a GT500... You're already lighting the money tree on fire after purchase.
