Question Thinking of purchasing a New edge...99-04 Differences??

Im thinking of purchasing a new edge GT for a daily since you can find them for about 10k now. Just want to know what to look for what years to look at I thought the 02-04 were the best years for the GT but not sure. Let me know what info you guys have!!

Im thinking with a set of snow tires and the abs, traction control I should be fine for the winter. Ive driven my mustang in the snow and I had a 300zx as a daily and that had no options. I got around fine in that with the blizzak tires.

Im looking for something stock. Maybe minor mods, exhaust, intake, etc.

i think its almost all cosmetic differences like wheels/hoods/small interior things...dont think there were any engine changes...maybe some stupid minor things that no one talks about like one year they might have improved the exhaust slightly or something in the valve train

Sellin the GTI to get a GT as a DD? I used to drive a 03 GT and I'd take a GTI over it any day for a daily. What's wrong with the GTI?

Jim is right 01+ has a 3650 trans and some minor cosmetic changes...hood scoop, side scoop, spoiler, double din radio and defroster switch. Only real engine change I know of is the water pump pulley is different as well.

    differences are negligable IMO.

    And...99-04 GT's are perfect daily's IMO.

Mine would get steady 27-28mpg highway on PA turnpike....with a few 29's and once I got 30.0. "Around town" driving was 20mpg.

THey run 14.0's in stock trim with decent handling and decent braking (compared to most other cars on the road), good fuel mileage on 87 octane, and are cheap.

gonna be hard to beat the GTI but the car is cheaper and will get me out of a payment sooooo might be worth it lol

the GTI will get 40 on highway its got all the bolt-ons and should run 13's. since it is the 20th ae it has upgraded brakes and suspension. So I am spoiled with the daily factor with that lol.... BUT!!! I must put 93 in it. I could run 87 in a GT!!!!!!!

There was one on CL before with very low miles and a couple nice little mods you would want, right at 10k. It's in washington Pa.

My friend ran his 00gt through multiple winters and he always said he was surprised how well it did in the snow with the TC on.

    Yes!

I bought my 03 GT for 6500 and its my DD. I love every minute of it. As for the snow, take it easy. The traction control does help, and having the manual also helps in the winter for me at least. I plan on making a great DD out of it too. I just ordered lowering springs and other goodies for it. The 4 or so months of winter vs the fun of the summer is worth it.

I saw the CL add John mentioned, it looks good but I did not go and see it. If you come out this way to look at it let us (me) know maybe we can have a mini meet and greet.
