Where to buy 351w Dart SHP block?

I am starting to put together a new combo for my 91 coupe. I am going to start with a 351w Dart SHP block this time. Who has the best deal on them? Any place fairly local to save on shipping? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can buy a DIY block from Fordstrokers. It will come ready to assemble. Give Woody a call & tell him what you need, he will take care of you!

    Dart SHP 408w

I talked to Woody today about a DIY Dart SHP 408w. Going with SCAT 4340 internals and 9:1 compression. Prices were pretty good. I will probably be ordering one soon.

Seems like a good guy. Took the time to answer all of my questions, asked me some questions about my combo and shipping is very reasonable too.

Hey Mark, I like the plan.
Just wonder why you're not going with the larger bore to make 427 (4.125 bore 408)?
Keep us posted on the build.

I am going with the 408 4.030" bore because I will have a lot more block longevity as far as future overbores as opposed to the 4.125" bore. I realize that the larger bore would probably make more power, but I am more concerned with the future overbore block longevity.

Why the low compression, power adder or two maybe?

even if you go 4.125 there should be room to go out to 4.155 later all those added cubes will help spool that turbo , and even run better n/a

The 4.125 is a shelf piston along with the 4.155 and the 4.185.
You dont get into a custom piston until you go larger than 4.185
So if you go 4.125 you still have two .030 rebuild left.

    Just something to consider......

I am going to stay with a 4.030" bore for now. I like the added insurance of many overbores since I'm forking out about $2,000 for the block.

    I can understand that.
There are positive and negatives to both.
Usually Dart blocks are good to at least 4.185 (some extreme NA guys have gone 4.200) so I do feel you'd be fine for future rebuilds at 4.125.
The 4.030 will give you more block left, less piston weight, less potential head gasket sealing issues with boost and more potential detonation resistance.
The 4.125 will give you more head flow (especially with a TFS High Port and its valve spacing) and more power potential.
I think both options will be about the same as power will be limited by the turbo anyway.
Good block choice, I like my FRPP/SVO block but DART is even better.
