    Fuel Pump

I have a feeling my fuel pump is on its way out. So I was thinking, if I'm going to replace it why not put in a bigger pump so I'm set-up for future engine mods. My question is about interchangeability (big word).

Fordparts.com lists a fuel pump for my '02 Crown Vic for $445 and a part number 9H307. I looked up an '03 Crown Vic and it gave me the SAME part number but a price of $351. I was told Mustang guys use Terminator pumps or SVT Focus pumps. So I looked up an '03 SVT Focus pump. Same part number (9H307) but a higher price of $488. The '03 Terminator pump listed at $2140! Different part number though. I did look up an '02 Mustang GT and it was a different part number than the Crown Vic so I'm assuming the Mustang pumps are not interchangable with Crown Vics????

So my question is.....Am I stuck with the stock pump or is there a higher flow pump available? If so, what?

I wish I can find the actuall Ford part number and be able to cross that with other vehicles but so far I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. Unless I spend some time with my local Ford parts guy....

Any help is appreciated. This has to get fixed ASAP so I'm not Found On Road Dead (get it?).

    Thanks!

focus pump is good to about 475 bhp....if the vic one is same as focus...then consider a stock replacement if you plan to use the factory shortblock

That's what I was thinking, going with stock. I don't plan on forced induction but it might not be out of the question in the future.
