thanks guys. Troy, there are a bunch of LS1 categories & there are also some gray areas in them also. there is Stock Internal, where anything goes as long as the internals are stock. then Cam Only which permits the cam & valvetrain to be upgraded. the new current record for Cam Only is 9.98. then there is Head/Cam which obviously allows heads. as far as i know, Texas Speed hold the record for Head/Cam with a 9.66

I think what troy is asking/saying is dont you have an intake/cam car? Cam only would be a stock intake/stock heads +valvetrain/stock bottom end and just an aftermarket cam, correct? I could be and probably am wrong

the Cam only, means the only internal changes to the motor can be the cam & valvetrain. i would be interested to see somebody run a cam as big as mine with stock pushrods & springs though. nobody has ever said anything about an intake or any other bolt-ons, which means that if i really wanted to, i could run a Victor Jr. style intake or even a sheetmetal intake & still be classified as Cam Only. basically the intake has no bearing on any of the categories.

cam only means cam only. if the intake doesn't matter than put a ls1 intake on your car with egr and all and see how fast it is. and what catergories are you getting these from. if you put a sheetmetal intake or victor jr. it does matter and its not just a cam only car then RIGHT or WRONG.?

btw Andy, my car didn't come with a LS1 intake or EGR so why would i have to run that?

Rules according to ls1tech say any intake can be used. Which since thats the website that holds and documents the records thats the rules everyone follows. Not a single person to my knowledge on the top 20 list did it with a stock intake or with a giant cam with stock springs and retainers.

you wanna name call, ****er, there is no intake restriction making it irrelevant as to what intake i want to use. so to be "cam only" i guess i have to follow the Harrer rules it seems. you may have gone 2 tenths quicker, but with heads, cam, intake & spray, i would certainly hope you could, but the day out at PRP when we were both there, you couldn't get that car to do shit. bring it to me & i'll show you how to make it run, since you can't seem to do it.:upyours:
