    Gauges question

Just got my car yesterday so I have not really had time to tear into it just yet but I did notice the stock Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauges are not working. There are Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauges in the Pod that are but it bothers me they are just dead in the dash..

The pod gauges are mechanical, are the stock gauges mechanical? Possible the just disconnected the stockers and ran the lines to the pod?

I am a newb to the forum and mustangs too, if this is in the wrong forum I apologize Mods feel free to move it.

Sounds like they just disconnected the stockers. The mechanical oil pressure gauge would be ran from the block where the stock oil pressure sending unit would have been. You could devise a "t" type set up with common fittings and get a stock sending unit and run both if you want to. The temperature gauge would be the same way and the stock temp sending unit would have been removed to install the mechanical one. There are other spots in the intake to run the stock one by removing a plug (I think) but if you put it in another spot the temperatures will not match exactly between the two gauges due to the different locations of the sending units. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. By the way neither of the two stock gauges in the dash are mechanical.
