    Spark plugs and shorty headers?

My buddy, RogerStout, just bought a 94 gt w/ MAC shorty headers. He needs to change the plugs and is having issues. His socket wont clear the tubes of the headers in order to remove the spark plugs. Is there a trick to this or maybe a special socket needed? Looking for advice from the 5.0 guys here, Im not too familiar w/ them like the 4.6's

Are they the un-equal shortys? I had them on my 85 Capri and never had an issue with changing plugs.

There has to be a flex/bent/angled tool to get them out... if not I'd be changing the headers with the plugs.

can he at least crack 'em loose, but not spin em out with socket on maybe? if thats the case, you can push a section of rubber fuel/pcv line onto the plug and spin it out..

at one time I had an old Montgomery wards spark plug socket that was perfect for
getting to plugs with headers. It was narrower on the ratchet end and it would except an 11/16 wrench,, Might be something to look for at a yard sales
It was a strange socket and it was a 12 point and one of the shortest plug sockets I ever seen,. But it worked-- I loaned it out,,,(stupid) miss that tool
