I copied this from another site:

TDC (top dead center) on the COMPRESSION stroke.
put the dizzy in and rotate the base until it is on the #1 spot on the cap. then pull the spout connector, tighten down the dizzy enough that it wont spin freely but u can make it twist, then fire it up, aim timing light at pointer, rotate dizzy until the pointer is at 10 (clockwise=advance) then kill it, put spout in, tighten down dizzy and you are good to go

Easiest way to find compression stroke is pull out number 1 plug and plug the hole with your finger. When the comression pushes your finger away you know you are coming up on the comp stroke.

Exactly. Then rotate the crank by hand and drip in the dizzy. Noting where number 1 is on the cap. Use a sharpie and put a dot on the housing so you can get the rotor pointing there. Then when it runs pull the spout out and set timing to 14° if you are staying N/A.

Oh yeah, you need to update your thread there too shorty!!!! I am sure some of the new guys would like to see what you made out of the klunker you bought. Its only been what, 3 years?
