best header gasket for use on turboed 5.0

i have a 92lx with a precion turbo. just took the heads off to have redone and am going to need some new gaskets such as header ones. whats the best gasket to use on a turboed 5.0? boost is at 9psi now but will be at 14 soon so they need to be able to take it. thanks

I just like to use copper RTV, but some guys I trust have had good luck with Remflex gaskets.

Yes, those are very good but I heard they are more sensitive to a straight surface, I know the Remflex stuff is thicker if there is any warpage.
Also, Catepillar has some red high-temp RTV stuff that is supposed to be the cat's ass ;)

I've always like to use some sort of gasket and a little copper rtv. How did using just the rtv hold up for you guys

No V8 experience, but I always just use Ultra Copper RTV on my header flange. Although the heat in a turbo exhaust side is insane, the heads are water cooled at that interface so it really shouldn't get that hot ( unless it leaks, then it burns up).

i like not having to look at that crap oozing out everywhere and my hotside can b a pain in the ass to put on. so all i do is put the two end bolts in and wa la no mess..

I put a set on my 90 GT before I pulled the turbo on it and they held up great. I was tired of burning the RTV off every couple hundred miles. They were less than $20 a set from Summit too! I'd say these will be the only headder gasket moving forward I will ever use on any of my engines again.

On a blower or na car I would use nothing less than a felpro 1415 gasket. Never ever leaked with lots of miles. On my turbo now I may try the ones Ed speaks of ot just go with copper ones.

we putting down 36psi on a 347 and not a one leak and they've. Been on and off dozen times.

I also have a set on the blue car there about four years old lol. I smack that bitch with 800hp hit worth of giggle gas every pass and never one issue so they work for me.

Hmmm. Well, you really have my attention on these gaskets. Nothing I hate more than to see a quality build then some asswipe smears orange gasket sealer everywhere. That just kills the entire thing. Also, too much work to pull the turbo to change gaskets when they go bad. Hence why I want the best there is offered on mine no matter what the cost is.

Hey FU buddy

It wasn't my cleanest work but had to be done the day before a dyno date and freshly wrapped headers.

Seriously though, copper sealant does work just fine although the right gasket is probably better if you can find one for your port that will last in your application.

HAHA Sorry J, hahah.. I have seen a bunch of decent turbo cars and some from shops with that shit smeared everywhere. On the heads, primary tubes, valve covers. I mean, get real. None of that garbage on mine. Like you kinda say, temporary. Its a half assed bandaid in my opinion.
