    Competition style intake/TB idea...

if i were to change my intake system to a edelbrock Victor Jr efi manifold, an elbow attached to a 70mm TB, edelbrock fuel rail kit, and possibly (if required) larger fuel injectors, what kind of hp/tq gains could i see?
is it worth it to spend the (around 500 bucks)?

car also has cold air intake, o/r x pipe, pypes catback, 3.73, sct tuner etc...

Not for a damn near stock motor IMHO. I wouldn't even mess with the stock shit unless you are stroked, FI, or Nitrous.

I concur with the mullet man. I would take those 500 clams and put them towards a nice converter or a set of longtubes.

I was thinking of a100 or 125 shot of nos. How much would it benefit to have tht manifold?

Nothing. Follow the others suggestions and do the LT's first. Is there another reason you want to do the intake? Just seems like you are looking for a reason. Power per dollar gain is not one of them.

I still don't think it would be worth the money. Another member on here made over 500rwtq on a 125 shot and the stock intake. Only benefit I can see is the metal intake might handle a nitrous backfire slightly better

I got the edelbrock intake its a nice piece but i am FI.
I dont think you would get any benefits from it and may even lose some low-mid end TQ

im just exploring the best way to gain as much hp/tq as possible.
my senior project is to make my 00gt faster than the 2010 camero ss ( in a drag race).
now i have the mods i have listed below, and im trying to see what i can do. i dont have the money for a super/turbo. im looking to get around 350 rwhp. i can only see that with nos and intake modifications. basially im trying to find the cheapest way possible to reach 350.
Ive thought about doing a 2v-4v swap from a 98 cobra, i have the tools and a pretty good of a mechanic neighboor to help if needed.
nos seems to be the easiest way to achieve 350 but i kinda would want that power to have constantly..not a mere 8-10 runs

im just stuck in a world of debating...

If you want to make 350 rwhp from your 2v 4.6 without spray, buy a blower/turbo, or buy another car. It isn't going to be feasible any other way. What 1/4 mile time are you basing your goals off of? Saying you want to beat a '10 Camaro SS in a drag race is a pretty broad generalization. That could be 13.2 for all we know, many near stock gear/tire/tune 99-04's easily dip into the 12s.

well ive been doing alot of research on a 2v and 4v swap, and its saying that with a few bolt on the car make about 325, which would be fine for me honestly, and it would be a constant power, not by a bottle.
i know a good bit about cars but a swap like this would go much smoother if i knew someone that could guide me through it

Folow Ed's (Ares) lead and find the weight and remove it. I'm not saying it's free power as you end up buying some light weight stuff (wheels, hood, etc), but it's a hard HP/$ ratio to beat.

A 300 HP taco shell will beat up on them all day ;)

well here is an option, i just found these at a really good price, 425 for all

    96-98 cobra heads
    01 cobra cams
    4v valvecovers
    4v front timing cover
    new head bolts(ford racing

would these be good to change my 2v to a 4v?

ya dont think your going to reach 350HP w/o FI. I think a guy on here made 290 with cams and some other bolt-ons. Best bet if u dont want to go FI would be to go to some 4V heads but its still going to be hard to get to 350HP

350 NA is tough, the old mans 5.0L stroked 2V with trick flow heads made 350 RWH & 360 TQ. FI is the cheapest way to go IMO.

Are you going to take the advice of the people above or do you just create threads to tell everyone what you're going to do without listening?

FI is the way to achieve your goals, if you prefer to just do your own thing you'll be wasting money.

You will still be way short of your 350hp goal with the 4v swap. My advice to you is either buy a nitrous kit or find a terrible Camaro driver and try to race him

When you say 325 is that flywheel or rwhp? I can maybe see 325 flywheel but def not rwhp. If you do the 4v swap it still might not be enough to reach your Camaro beating goal. I would at least do a converter with the swap or I doubt you will break into the 12's
