Without longtubes you will prob only see 300ish at the wheels, and I think that is being generous. The stock auto is fine and will take some abuse, but unless you upgrade to a higher stalling converter you will be stuck in the land of 1.9-2.0 sixty foot times forever. I know this from experience.

Your stock gt headers will not work on 4v heads so you will need 4v headers as well.

im honestly not sure what i want to do, trying to look to spend under 1000.
maybe im living in dream land idk.
i just want around 350 hp, but id prefer a constant power that nitrous doesnt give.
if i were to do a 4v swap with extra bolt ons i would honestly need help to do the swap because the little things i wouldnt be sure how/what to do

The 4v swap plus a nice set of headers would prob put you over the 1k you want to spend. You are pretty much at the point where anything you do is going to put you at or over the 1k mark for minimal gains. I will stick to my original post and say longtubes and a quality converter. You won't put down the numbers you would with the 4v stuff but i guarantee you it will be way more fun to drive

okay thanks, i appreciate your advice.
also one other thing, would larger fuel injectors benefit my gt by themselve at all? ( i know id have to get 24lbs injectors if i did do a 4v swap.)
and what quality convertor do u have in mind?

Unless you are doing FI, your stock injectors are fine and you wont pick up anything going bigger. As far as a converter goes Dirty Dog Performance, Circle D, and Precision Industries all make a nice product. I would personally stay away from TCI and Edge. They are junk.

Yes you are. Just because you can get the "hard parts" to do a 4V swap for 500, the ancillaries are going to be MUCH more than you are budgeting for, don't forget injectors, tune, gaskets, oil, bolts, headers, and especially the counseling you are going to need once you realize you just dropped 2 grand to make 295 hp at the wheels, and it took you weeks to get the car done on top of it. Or, you could just take 2500 and about 5 minutes on the Corral and find a blower and make 370 at the wheels EASY in an afternoon.
