Cool...i'm surprised it's such a big deal. Those cars are so light gear and tire is your friend.

My buddy went 13.65@102 on dryrotted 245 street radials in his 88lx 5-speed. This was with 3.55's gears. I think all it would really need for 12's is more gear and more tire. His car had no weight reduction aside from a removed front sway bar and spare tire. Factory stock suspension otherwise. Gotta love those fox cars!!

This what I'd like to try someday:

    1. 1987-88 speed density coupe (stripper) 5-speed Fox example
    2. Advance timing *free*
    3. Remove air silencer *free*
    4. Remove front sway bar *free*
    5. 26x8.5x15 M/T ET Drags on stock turbines or phone dials * $150.95 x 2*
    6. 3.90 or 4.10 gear *219.95*
    7. Remove serpentine belt ( eliminates need for U.D. pulleys, electric WP, etc.) *free*

    Notes:
    Utilize lower elevation track.

Coupes *usually* come in at 3000 full weight + 200 lbs. driver.

270 FWHP hypothetically should push a 3,200 lb. fox to a velocity of 102mph. (This should equate to roughly 235RWHP)

Calculating e.t. from MPH that would put the fox around the 13.20 range.

The efficiency created by the mechanical advantage of the gears and the slicks ability to harness the multiplied torque output created by the gears *can* produce e.t's below the *ideal e.t.* for the given mph(102)

Point being for under $600.00, with the complete stock exhaust, no weight dumped except for the sway bar removal for increased weight transfer, and some killer density altitude could a 12 sec. e.t. be obtained? Stay tuned:D

The real question isn't how fast do these cars run...it's how many times have you been down the 1320.

Its not that tough, especially in a fox car, I did it in my 94 cobra w/ a stock longblock, & not much weight reduction done, car made 265 rwhp & 308rwtq, and ran 12.97 @ 106. It could have went much faster but I got a smokin deal on the s-trim & went the blown route.
