Double Din Head Unit in a Fox Body...

May seem like a dumb question.... But will it fit??? It appears that it will but I wanted to see if anyone else has done it yet to know if there are any hidden surprises I should be aware of.

I am looking between Kenwood, Pioneer and Sony.... Haven't made a decision yet. I am hoping to find out more about each one and their ability to override the DVD playing capabilities before making a final decision.

    Any thoughts? Input? Experience?

I saw you put a Ford 6 disc in.... Your post said it was a REAL nice fit. I could only get one pic to load.

Anyone have any experience with Aftermarket DD's? How do you override them to get the DVD to play when in motion? I am only asking about Pioneer, Kenwood and Sony since those are my 3 options.

And since a DD will fit in the car.... I am set, just gotta figure out which one to go with.

Pleanty of room. I did an older pioneer fhp-95 in an old fox. In my current one I did the cd6 unit. But for the dvd question, just put a toggle on the wire for the parking brake hook-up wire then put to ground. When you want to watch a movie just flip the switch.

My old Kenwood I just ran that wire to a ground and was done with it. I know some have to sense a break in contact and some need 12v relays hooked up. Just trying to find out what is what.

The newer ones need to see a voltage change on the reverse wire in the steering column. I just put one in a Super Duty but I didn't hook up the parking brake wire or the reverse wire since the owner didn't care about watching DVDs.

sorry for the quality, i used the exact same trim piece for the double din 6 disc and nav unit. I took out the console bracket and studs on the tranny tunnel to get it fit. I took a typical stereo mounting panel from a fox, used the dimensions of the 6 disc and cut a hole, nav fit great I used the adapter you would use in an explorer or mountaineer to fit it to my trim piece
