A couple of reasons, some good, some not so much.
Most manufacturers think the fox body Mustang started with the aero cars.
The early cars did not have the double hump crossmember needed for dual.
The four eye cars that came with single exhaust do not have provisions for the hangers on the passenger side.
There where variations at the header / manifold connection point on early cars (heat risers).
Some cars have a fuel pump where the passenger muffler needs to go.
Likely a few others I'm missing. All of this can be overcome, just need to work through details.
ok so basically i can buy an exhaust for an 86 i am just goin to need to put hangers in were they need to go or would the easier route be just to run some dumps
I have a Flowmaster cat back thats going back up for sale.
