has anyone ever been to the daytona motorspeedway?

I have,

Very neat experience. If you never been there and have the opp. then you should take it. It is amazing how steep the banking is on the turns.. in real life. You can take a tour of the track and they have a cool museum to visit. I cant remember if it was Daytona or Charlotte, but I participated in a pit crew challenge. You get a team of 4 and go head to head against another team in a timed session of changing a tire on a car. Half inch drive air impact and all.... pretty sweet

Been there many times. Worth the trip for sure! If you're going to see a race, the Pepsi 400 (Or that's what it used to be called) the night race around the 4th of July is the one to see. Much nicer and warmer than the Daytona 500.

went in 2004 for the daytona 500 and all of speedweeks races

The one time I went to the 500 the most recognized face in NASCAR died on the last lap. Trackwise I thought it was easy to get in and out of, I agree with ViperEd though, go for the July race. It HAS to be warmer. Cool track.

problem with july race is you dont get all the other races

bud shootout
gatorade duels
trucks
busch
iroc

from my experience it was cold at the bud shootout and got warmer everyday

I never plan on staying that long. I like racing as much as the next guy, but sheesh, thats alot of ass time.

hey if your going take your fastest car with you and some cash.we have done alot of street racing in daytona.just keep away from a little mustang coupe with a little chevy and some spray.its a killer and weighs like 1950 w/driver.yea he took my money!and yea the speedway is cool.

also the mustang im talkin about well i was on a turbo busa 8.8@168 and gave him the hit.never did catch him!its fast but i also was like holy hell the thing was on the bumper leavin on the street.

My grandma used to live there, we went every year in august. She had tickets to the 500 but they were always for her friends from back in mars who came down every year. I took the tour many times and once did the Richard Petty Experience. For only like a hundred bucks I got 4 laps in the passenger seat around the track. Thats what I recommend anyone do.

I did that in Charlotte and also drove for 8 laps too. Everyone should do it!

the only cool thing i saw was across the road there is a place where you can pilot a RAIL to 0-60mph in 2 seconds, it was the only thing worth the trip because NASCAR SUCKS...

I did that the 1st year I was down there. Are they still Propane Powered 350's on them?
