    WTB 2002-2004 C5 Z06 corvette

Please keep un-needed replies out of this thread.

I am in the market for a 2002-2004 C5 Z06. I am searching all of the usual car sites but if anyone comes across one please let me know. Color isn't too important but I would prefer not to have yellow as I have two friends with yellow ones. I want something with under 60k miles preferably. I am only interested in 100% stock cars, though I may make an exception for wheels. I will pay a small finders fee to the person that tells me about a car if I end up buying it. Thanks!

PM's are coming to you guys...

TooFast98Cobra- They sure are nice! I love the C6 style over the C5, and I'd love to have one but for what I want it for the C5 is a better car to own. This is going to be my new autocross car and the C6 are just too much car for his kind of event.

C6's are awesome cars, let alone C6 Z's.. sometimes it comes down to looks too... i alwasy thought that people were out of their mind when they said they liked a C5 better than a C6 (and obviously i own a C5)... but i had my car parked side-by-side to a black C6 at the golf course one day, and i can honestly see it... I think my car was sleeker, better looking... Still to this day, when i see them apart, i think to myself that the C6 is just a TEENY TAD better looking, but when i put them side by side, i really like mine better... its weird....

now, C6 Z's or ZR1's are a whole different story.... In either generation 5 or 6, you can't go wrong with the Vettes...

edit: i see you're looking for an autocross car.... and you can probably get a C5, put a boatload of mods to it, and still be quite a bit less than a C6, so it probably is your better option....

I have the option right now to buy my friend's 2005 C6 Z51. He is offering me an almost too good to be true price on it and I LOVE it, but the C5Z06 is still cheaper, lighter, and a better platform for running in the stock class it is in. I don't have any intentions of modifying this car as it fits into the super stock category in the SCCA which is the fastest of the stock classes, it is also the car that tends to win the national events in this class. The C6 also fits into this class but it is a few hundred pounds heavier, and I am limited with tire choices as I have to run the factory 18's up front and 19's out back. I have had enough of trying to run a car in a modified class, I want to go to a simpler stock class so that I can concentrate more on driving and less on wrenching.

Paul, I looked on autotrader.com within a 200 mile radius lastnight and saw several on there anywhere from $25,000 to $35,000 and most of them weren't modded. Some had low miles.

There is a Yellow Corvette at 5 Star Suzuki right now out front, but I know nothing about them and have not stopped and looked so I do not know if it what you are looking for, but it is close.

The low $20K ones are out there, but not typically on autotrader. If I lived in texas or Cali I'd have my car by now as they are plentiful there for around the $20K price. Maybe I need to make a road trip.

The 2 at 5 Star are both C6 convertibles, but thanks for the heads up.

Brian, I haven't check racing junk lately as most stuff on there is modified and I absolutely must have a stock car. I will look later though, thanks for the reminder.

Thanks but I have absolutely no interest in a modded car. If it is not stock I won't even look at it, especially for what I want it for.

I see one just popped up in Irwin at a place called Harrison's, does anyone know anything this place? It seems they sell a lot on eBay, I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not.

They sell a lot of higher-end cars. They're always dealing BMW's, Mercedes, Hummers, limited production cars, etc. They're not too bad a dealership.

Thanks for the feedback. I have always set out to buy a certain color of car only to never stick to my guns and I always ended up with something else. I'm trying to avoid that this time and since just about everyone I know with a Z06 has a yellow one I'm looking to grab a 2002-2003 Quick Silver, any year black, or a 2004 Leman's edition blue with the silver stripes.

Thanks Mark, I think I'm going to pass on the one at Harrison's.

    The search continues...
