that doesn't sound like too bad of a program.

I've been racing in the Street class since 1999. Even if I lose first round, I am usually there until the final rounds for all classes. I have never seen what you're describing above?
saw it happen twice in 09, once it happened to a friend of mine running trophy. we watch all the cars pretty good in street & trophy as most people do & my friend makes it to semi-finals & out of nowhere comes some clapped out 4 door club that wasn't anywhere around the rest of the day, cut a wicked light & ran right on. kinda fishy how nobody saw this car all day & it comes out of nowhere in the semis.

The Night at the Races is sweet.... so is the $600 to win :D

Hhmmmmm strange.... The only thing I can think of is if the car that came around was double classing, Street and Trophy, since Street runs before Trophy.

Something like that, I fully support going to the tower and asking (in a sportsmanlike way) for an explanation. The guys in the lanes aren't going to have any of the information, like the elimination round sheets, that the tower has.

You sure on those breaks Chuck?? ... I swear it changed up to 9.99 and quicker and 10.00 and slower at some point last year ... I like the 10.99 break better.

we thought the "ringer" car was double classing, but nobody at all saw this car all day in any class. i've heard of that stuff happening & thought no way it could, until this incident happened with my friend. he was pissed, but sort of just brushed it off. he's a pretty laid back guy though. i think the rest of us were more pissed off than he was. lol

anyway, i may come out & try the Night at the Races thing. seems like it could be fun

Now you have me wondering, Bob. I'm trying to remember what Joe Conti was dialed against me the night I won, if it was 10.x or 11.x. I'll see if I can dig up the slip.

2 time trials, then eliminations, can't remember if they have buybacks or not. May depend on the car count and if there were any oildowns.

Just an FYI, for anyone, if you've never tried the bracket days, it's the same thing, 2 time trials, and then eliminations, so you get a minimum of 3 runs for your money, more if you win rounds.

I'm hoping it was a miscommunication of some kind. Hate to hear of stuff like that. I can tell you it hasn't happened in Street... many of us watch to see who wins and loses, and thus moves up/down in the points.

You are right, Bob. It used to be the 11.00 and up, and last year it was the 10.00 and up, 9.99 and quicker. See what happens to your mind when you have 8 cylinders running rich? Mmmmmm fig newtons..... :D

    I...

...remember one of the days at last years PRP Mopar weekend talkin to David Ross after his 1st er 2nd round loss and him sayin AJ just got their in the elimination rounds! Now AJ bein a grrreat racer n local, pretty much dial'd his car n ran right on the dial to win the event! Dave bein a outta Stater said it was kinda unfair that so many racers travel to race at a bigger event and then a local comes outta know where, basicly showin up in the semi's and takes the purse!!

LOL, see if you can use your influence to get the bump back up to 10.99/11.00 ;) ... Seems like every one I ran last year went by me at 140+ mph ;) I "thought" the car count split was better at that range too, but could be wrong (but it puts a lot of MOD 10.20-10.90 cars into essentially a "box" class).

LOL ^^ But from what I got outta of it was basicly in short form, AJ the local enters the race in eliminations rounds for whatever the reasoning and ran on his dial to win the event! Mean while Dave from WV travels stay's the whole weekend n wasn't happy bout it! Two grrrrreat racers btw!!

Brent, because this is the internet, I don't want you to think I'm taking an attitude, or ticked off, or anything like that. I'm just trying to explain what happened, and what didn't happen, so there is no misinformation out there.

AJ is my buddy. I know you and Dave are not accusing him of anything, but I want it to be clear there was no "tower power" in effect, that just because he's a local, he got special treatment. To the Chrysler Classic, now Mo-Powered, Series, there are no favorites. It's run at 5 different tracks, it's a for-profit organization, so they want as many cars as possible. But they wouldn't put anyone into the race late in the rounds. Every racer has to earn their way through, from round 1. It's possible AJ made it to the track late, took no time trials, and dialed the car off the trailer. He's that good, he can do it, he's done it before. Why would they turn his money down, if he's still within the rules (making it before first round)?

It doesn't matter who you're lined up with, you still have to cut a light, and know what to do at top end.

I'm in no position of influence. I thought the split was better at the 11.00 bump as well. I like beating those fast cars. :D That is a rush on top of a rush!

Was a joke, if I thought you could do anything, I would push for payouts for first round runner up :D

Brent, you are out of line getting on the internet and saying things that FLAT OUT AREN'T true. I have NEVER seen ANYONE "inserted" into the semi's EVER, in any class. AJ has and does sometimes get to the track late, and darn right he will take the round from you without a time trial...because he can race...not because the track has favorites.

I probably came off a little more harsh than I needed to. For me it wasn't about who can and can't race...more so that that was a completely false story. I have no problem with you Brent, just came to the defense of a friend thats all.
