AJ is my buddy. I know you and Dave are not accusing him of anything, but I want it to be clear there was no "tower power" in effect, that just because he's a local, he got special treatment. To the Chrysler Classic, now Mo-Powered, Series, there are no favorites. It's run at 5 different tracks, it's a for-profit organization, so they want as many cars as possible. But they wouldn't put anyone into the race late in the rounds. Every racer has to earn their way through, from round 1. It's possible AJ made it to the track late, took no time trials, and dialed the car off the trailer. He's that good, he can do it, he's done it before. Why would they turn his money down, if he's still within the rules (making it before first round)?
It doesn't matter who you're lined up with, you still have to cut a light, and know what to do at top end.
