Cleaning out a closet and came across a bunch of stereo components that were in an '87 GT convertible I had. I sold the car relatively cheap about 10 years ago, so the aftermarket stereo did not go with the car.
Components include: Alpine TDM-7534S head unit, Alpine 3527 4/3/2 Channel Amplifier, Alpine 3517 Amplifier, Alpine 3331 Graphic Equalizer ( 11 frequencies plus subwoofer control ), Alpine 5952 remote 6-CD changer, Boston Acoustics Pro 5.4 component speakers with crossovers, Boston Acoustics 8" diameter subwoofer tube, and a LOT of wiring. I labeled many of the pigtails when I pulled the system. No wires were cut.
I am definitely not a car stereo expert, but this Alpine stuff, while high quality, seems more complicated than "regular" units. The head unit, for example, has to run through an amp, as it does not have an internal power supply. About a week before I sold the car, the head unit ( which was only a few months old - I bought it from a co-worker who installed it ) stopped working. I had already placed the for-sale ad for the car and the first guy who came to look at the car bought it, so I didn't have time to troubleshoot.
Here's some info on a few of the components:
Boston Acoustics Pro 5.4 component speakers with crossovers. They are 5 1/4 inches in diameter. I bought these to replace the awful door speakers that were in the car. These speakers are incredible. They were over $400 when new, and were only in the car for a few months before I sold it. I changed jobs and my new job didn't come with a company car, so the GT convertible got replaced with a '95 SHO that was faster and WAY better in the snow. They're still in the original box. Price $250.
Boston Acoustics 8" diameter subwoofer tube. It works great and is in really nice condition. $25 takes it.
Alpine TDM-7534S receiver. Detachable face. Like I said above, it was only used for a few months and stopped working about a week before I sold the car. You'll need an amp for this to work. I have 2 of them here for sale.
Alpine 3331 graphic equalizer. 11 frequencies plus subwoofer control. I've seen these selling online for $200 and $114. I'm not looking to get anywhere near that out of it.
Alpine 5952 remote ( trunk ) 6 CD changer. When the head unit stopped working, I was unable to remove the 6-cd cartridge ( Alpine part # 4905 ) from the changer. The sliding door fell off, but doesn't affect the playback. I'll try to find the sliding door.
So that's about it. For someone with the right skills I'm sure could be a really nice deal.
I'd like to sell everything together for $325. The 5 1/4 inch component speakers alone are worth that. Feel free to make an offer on the whole package or individual components and I'll get back to you as quickly as I can.
Thanks folks.
Ron
