hahah the main reason i'm looking for a room is to have some people up to pregame before we go out and then grab a taxi back there when the nights over. I don't know anyone that lives in Pittsburgh so having a close place to crash Friday and Saturday night will be convenient.

I see. I've never really got a hotel room, just a condo at the beach. I'm not sure what's nice or not, hence why I'm asking. Any suggestions in general?

I haven't stayed at many downtown hotels. The Westin was pretty nice and has a decent restaurant and bar

Sheraton Station Square, make sure you get a riverfront room, preferably on one of the higher floors. You're right by all the stuff by Station Square, easy walking around, etc. They don't have in room jacuzzis, but they have a pool and whirlpool.

If you're staying til Sunday, hit the Grand Concourse for Sunday brunch.

It's on the list of restaurants here:

    Hotel suites in Pittsburgh

We tried that in a bar the first time we went there.... Lady said "you guys are from the states aren't ya?". lol.

We always stayed at the bond place in Dundas square... Cheap and close to everything for walking.

Double Tree and William Penn are really nice "down town" hotels. The old Weston by the point is now a Hilton Garden which usually have nice rooms for a reasonable price.

I stay in hotels 2-3 nights a week for business and the newer Holiday Inn's and Holiday Inn Express's are pretty nice but I'm not sure they're the hotel to wine and dinner the old lady!

This is true, I actually worked on this Hyatt. When I boat on the point you can see the building from the river easily, and all the views of the city are there too. Check the pricing.
