Cams on 4V cars don't usually make a ton of extra power anyways. I'm sure the biggest reason most people do it is for the sound. I do agree that it is kind of a ricer thing to do but you could make that arguement about a lot of different things. Overall I think it's pretty cool

Why does it always sound like someone's pissed in your cherrios
We all know a tune is worth good power on these cars and when that same tune can also make the car sound like its got a 3/4 race cam for the same money, wouldn't you do it?
As far as I know the tune can alter the variable cam timing at idle and make the car sound cammed, kinda like the Boss 302 'track key' deal.
I think its pretty cool although I still remember 2 girls in college thinking my LX had something wrong with it because of the 'serious' E303 idle, good times

Because I am RWD performance car-less for the first time since I was 18 (I am 30), I guess I am a bit annoyed about that (and jealous of all of you).

But seriously, I see this as rice, plain and simple. The Boss track key doesn't make it sound that roudy, plus the Boss is the best performance Mustang in the history of Ford, so they get a pass regardless. Plus WTF is a 3/4 race cam?

I have said it already, the car in the video sounds very good, and I have always loved the sound of an aggressive cam/cams. But tuning a car to make it sound as if it has performance camshafts when it doesn't insults my idea of performance cars in general.

When I was running TwEECer with multi tunes on a switch, I had a tune that mostly idled stock, and one that had more tractor sound to it (could call it agressive) ... For that it was all about the timing and AFR target. I'm sure it can be tamed down, but "agressive" usually means overlap and you can't tune that in or out on a pushrod engine.

Do the 2011 Mustangs have a "black box"? I am fairly confident they do. If so, if anyone touches the tune, other than Ford for a legitimate issue, you have voided the factory warranty. Taking it back to stock does nothing other than reset the factory calibrations. Your new tune stays in the "black box" for eternity. Are you prepared to be pay all expenses out of pocket?
