    Battery recommendations

I have a yellow top optima and that damn thing won't take a charge like so many others I read and hear about. I have used the odyssey lightweight batteries before but they too have died and won't hold a charge for me. I am tired of pushing my 95 around the garage and want to get a battery for it. Anyone have any recommendations? I'd like a lighter than stock battery if at all possible, but I want enough cranking amps that if I have it out in the fall when it is cold it will still crank over and start. Any advice you have is welcomed! I have a battery tender but admittedly I forget to use it like I should.

Any battery that isnt used & charged frequently wont last but a few years bro.

Ive used both batteries that you've mentioned and had them die in a few years too but I guess that just part of the game of having a vehicle that isnt driven very often.....

I bought a new Optima Yellowtop last year cause I got a smokin deal on it.
Im also still running the factory stock battery in my 2002 Honda Civic with 189K miles on it now but the car never goes more than 1-2 days tops without being started & driven.....

Good luck with whatever you buy but I think theyll all end up the same unless you start using that battery tender....

    agreed...battery tender FTW

I had a nine year old optima red top that put out over 1000 CCA....and it was only rated to 850. I liked that battery.

I bought a red top for my F250 and it was junk!! Took it back and they gave me a new one. This one soo far has been awsome!! I will admit that i hardly drive it, but so far so good...I will say the first one had about six inches of dust on it....
