I dont have any experience with PTC but Ive heard good things about their converters. I would recommend getting a C4 with a trans brake if you plan on taking it to the track.

I've got a 5.0 turbo too but that means a lot different things to different people;)
how much power we talking and what do you plan on doing with it--street, strip, both?
I switched from a TKO to an auto and decided to go with a built AOD for what I want to do with the car. My brother uses a PA Super Comp C4 with good results also.
Powerglide, Turbo 400, AOD/4r70W, C4 are probably the best auto choices and which one depends on your goals.

Well it will be street strip but im more concerned with how it does at the track b/c it will probally see very few street miles. Im hoping to b right at the 550ish hp mark. Edelbrock heads f cam torkerII intake and a masterpower 67 all on a stock bottom end. I talked to the guys at ptc and they said there trans brake c-4 is set up the same as the pa 6pinion planet 6 clutch high gear etc etc accept it dosnt come with a lifetime waranty. What kind of power does your brother make? and how is the pa holding up for him?

He runs low to mid 10s been in for 4 years now with only fluid changes.
I would say C4 for your goals should be perfect.
Honestly with the turbo you will probably only want a 3.27 gear 3.55 max for that combo, so even street driving not bad.
Sounds like a fun set-up good luck.

i'd get your self a good block and forged bottom before you worry about a trans. block will split before you brake a built trans.

I've been hearing that for 5 years now, I keep RPM below 6k and a safe tune, no cracks here. Maybe this year I'll break it , going for 9s

    Why not a MP 70 or 76?

I've been around Mustang 5.0s for 20+ years, never seen one cracked in person. I've blown plenty of head gaskets. Seen pictures on the web of cracked blocks, so I know its possible. Maybe I need to push it harder and break it so I can go ahead and build the 351W I have sitting on the engine stand. :D
