it may be illegal but its still a dick move for a cop to pull someone over for it while doing norhing wrong. If someone is speeding/driving like an asshole and get pulled over then all bets are off for an additional tint ticket.

My thoughts exactly. I wasnt speeding or driving wreckless at all. My windows werent even rolled up when he pulled me over

you dont have to be doing anything extra. thats the point...Ive been pulled over for tint before, did I take it off? No, and never will. Im just saying I dont get why its such a big issue...this tint is illegal just like speeding or running a stop sign, so why is it so hard to believe?

I wish everyone else got called names and criticized for doing their jobs. Might change the perspective a bit.

No its not. Let me know if you lose your license if you get 3 tint tickets in a year...Personally if the po-pos thought that tint was that much of a danger to leo lives don't you think the fines would be so high that people wouldn't want it on in the first place?

The point (which I thought was pretty clear by now) was that its illegal, as are those other examples.

The main issue is that while the rule was written for safety, it is usually enforced just to make money off drivers minding their own business. That is the only issue I have with it.

I meant that yes it is deemed illegal, but the severity of it isn't anywhere near getting points etc, and it is obviously something that is putting the lives of LEOs in danger. So why wouldn't the penalty be stiffer?

Its enforced because it is the law! Plain and simple man.

I have had many encounters with law enforcement officers and have only ran into one dick in my life ... not trying to start with you but did you ever think it might be how you interact with a cop that results in such a horrible experience?

I have been pulled over something like 55-60 times (counting DOT inspections, probably 30 car related), and I have only run into maybe 4 or 5 dicks. Most have been nothing but respectful and polite, even some where they had every reason to be dicks. It is all about how you treat them. Every time I get pulled over, I wait until I find a safe place on the side to pull into (not stop in the middle of the damn road so the poor guy gets run over), I turn the interior light on, pull the keys out, put them on the dash, and it is "yes sir, no sir" from that point on. If I have to go into the glove box to get something, I make him aware of it before doing it. Being respectful goes a LONG way, especially 2 months later when you are sitting next to him in court and he is remembering how you treated him when you ask the judge if you can plead guilty to 5 over so you don't get any points.

I too have been pulled over more then I have fingers and toes. Most of the officers have been very polite, for the most part. There is one Local Yokel, that everyone knows is a real A-hole.

I do have respect for them, because most of them have a very difficult job. They get shot at. They have to deal with scum bags all day, They have to deal with psychos and many other things.

Despite my feelings on the tint issue I also have respect for those in law enforcement. Most I have dealt with have been respectful and I show respect back. I have only dealt with a few ego-trip d bags.

I have respect for cops too and I have several friends that are cops. But most of the cops I have dealt with in the past have been very disrespectful and made stupid remarks when I was being polite and answering Yes sir/no sir. The cop that pulled me over is well known in my area for being an a-hole

I treat them how they treat me period. As far as the tint goes My new stang is tinted and I just roll them down when I see a cop. I also agree to be ready with lights on ignition off and keys on the dash when they walk up. It's just better off for everyone I think they may appreciate it as well. And face a cop is a person just like everyone else and if he's a dick it has nothing to do with his uniform. He may just assume that it makes it ok though.
