    Bad Lightning!

Sorry I haven't been posting much friends, since 1/3/11 alone we have done more business then any entire winter previously! We stay busy throughout the winter but I'm am totally blown away by the amount of work we have done so far this year! Thanks so much to all of our customers, fans and friends!

Here is a customers 02 Lightning that came to us for some much needed mechanical TLC! When the truck came in it had a misfire, suspected head gasket and many other issues, to include a bad tune. After a general go over we decided to pull the passenger side plugs and discovered a puddle of coolant on top of the #3 piston via the bore snake. The customer wanted to do things right and make the most of the labor situation, so we pulled the motor and decided to let the modding begin!

We tore the engine down to the short block and went through and repaired the cylinder heads. Once the heads were ready for reassembly we installed new valve seals, custom valve springs and custom cams. We used ARP head studs and Fel-Pro head gaskets to secure the cylinder heads to the existing OEM short block. We then proceeded to take some measurements to verify the custom cams that we installed. We found the passenger side cam to be retarded 4.5 degrees and the driver side 2.5 degrees retarded from the custom cams ICL. We synced the cams up bank to bank and advanced them slightly to complete our degree process and we were very pleased with the results!

Here are a few pics and a quick video of the results! Big thanks to our customer for being patient and easy to work with, makes our job much easier!

I have always wanted an L! Don't see or work on them much but when I do I go nuts and start shopping for one! My biggest fear is I will finally pull the trigger on one and then Ford will come out with an all new one!
