Boss 302: 11.72 Bone Stock With Radials

i didn't realize this. i was under the impression that all boss' came with two keys but the so-called race key had to be inserted and programed at an authorized dealer and then once the street key was inserted back into it, it automatically went back to the street tune. i could be totally off base with this... but i could of swore that's what i read.

Not sure on that but the track key only comes with the Laguna Seca model Boss not the standard from my understanding

Probably a lot more than that... still there hasn't been a ZR1 that could go faster.

Explain the blue ZR1 at PRP that ran a 12.2... From what I've seen the Ford GT has more potential once modified.

i'd say the biggest factor with a 12.2 in a zr1 is driver, follwed up by track conditions... same thing as me seeing termy's run high 13's, low 14's before. i know those times do not do those cars justice.

With that logic, my stock mullet mobile is faster than a ZR1..

It's definitely up to the driver, and trying to hook almost 600rwhp on 19" wheels can be very difficult.

i am not getting into the debate of vette vs mustang, i just wanted to clear up a few things on the boss 302.

all new boss 302's come with both keys, however the track key is not working on any car yet as ford has not released the tune/program.

most people are paying msrp for their boss 302, the LS addition is seeing some adm, usually less than 5k ( this is a very limited edition ).

also, the boss was built to road race not drag race. though i am sure it will see alot of both.

wonder what times pure stock could get out of a stock boss? more hp, race inspired form the start, special exhaust etc...

I've seen 03-04 Cobras running 13s and 14s, that doesn't mean they are 14 second cars. Just means some people are shitty ass drivers.

It always comes down to the drivers in all forms of racing.. a bad driver can make the fastest cars look slow. I remember seeing a blue viper at prp running mid 13s if I remember correctly. And it had intake exhaust and tune.

Can't tell from a video whats been done to any car, if your going to claim stock the video should show a quick shot of the tires and under the hood as the car is getting ready to go out on the track.

Dude, even Car+Driver went deep 11's in the ZR1. Not hard to believe a 3300 lb. car with well over 600 hp and massive traction can hit 10's in great air stock.

Track key comes with the Boss new. You must go to the dealer and pay them $302 for them to enable the key.

Mark, I was under the impression from the 1 hour show I watched on Comcast a lil while back it was for the Laguna Seca Edition only. It was suppose to be one of the perks for the extra money. I dvr'd the show I'll have to watch it again.

True, but what do you think Joe could have ran with a stock Boss on the same day? Boss has way more potential stock.
All of these discussions of stock versus stock times means little unless it is same driver, same track, same day. As you all know, those variables can swing widely.
