Boss 302: 11.72 Bone Stock With Radials

Mark, I was under the impression from the 1 hour show I watched on Comcast a lil while back it was for the Laguna Seca Edition only. It was suppose to be one of the perks for the extra money. I dvr'd the show I'll have to watch it again.

According to this Months Car and Driver, Here is the text:

Ford will offer a package for the Boss that adds to the power-train control module (PCM) a racing-specific tune borrowed from the race-ready Boss 302R. The software pack comes complete with a separate key for activation, Ã* la Bugatti Veyron; inserting the red-label TracKey switches the engine computer to track mode (“TracMode” in Ford-speak), affecting things like throttle sensitivity, cam timing, fuel, spark, and off-throttle deceleration. The TracKey package also adds a two-stage launch-control system like the one used on the Cobra Jet drag special. Ford sees the two-tune strategy as an advantage over aftermarket chips which might make a car unsuitable for daily driving—plus you get to keep your warranty intact. The package and its double-down PCM don’t come installed from the factory but must instead be added by a Ford dealer after the buyer takes delivery.

True, but what do you think Joe could have ran with a stock Boss on the same day? Boss has way more potential stock.
All of these discussions of stock versus stock times means little unless it is same driver, same track, same day. As you all know, those variables can swing widely.

Exactly, dynos numbers possed the same problem thats why they came out with a correction factor. Thats why I just laugh when people post these ET's from tracks in other areas in these mine shaft conditions. If you added the "ET correction factor" its no different then all the others.

When Ford announced in 04/05 they were going to produce a new Shelby, it was supposed to be a 3 year run with 2500 made a year (7500 total). As soon as my dad got this word, he went to the local Ford dealership and put in his order. With his advance order, he was lucky enough to get one of the first 500 in 2007. Initially he thought this would be a nice collectors item in the future as a limited production vehicle, but with the current production numbers I don't think that means to much anymore.
