i would not reccomend to pull through the intank pump, i have done this method and it is really hard on the new pump and can starve the engine of fuel, and you are right about the cost, if you are trying to race on a buggit a carb is deff the way to fly, you would need an intake, carb, fuel pump, air cleaner, and i would reccomend an msd ignition to get rid of the factory controlled electronic ignition, a carb is super easy to tune. call me if you need any help.

you should get a 79-85 mustang tank with the correct pickup, but i have taken out the elec pump and just extended the tube to the bottom of the tank. the mallory dist is ok, but if you have a vlotage spike anywere in the system it will blow out the module, do you have adjustable rockers? if not, because you shaved the heads and are using a aftermarket cam the base circle on the cam may be diff than stock so you will need to check pushrod length and lifter preload before running the car,

I think it would cost more to switch to a carb. You can get a fuel pump, regulator, MAF, and injectors for about $750 new and I'm sure you wouldn't have any fuel problems, and you wouldn't have to change anything else. Are you running N/A or a power adder. You can also find those parts used all over the place even cheaper. A good carb (demon or holley HP) are gonna cost you $500 - $700 and you still have to get a pump and intake. Either way its gonna cost you $$$.

Unless you want to get spanked by some mustangs I'd stay away from chevy's LOL.

i got no power adder's i wanna run nitrous, but i really dont like fuel injected, i think carb would make more power easier, a plate nos system would be cheaper too wouldnt it?? a intake shouldnt cost over $200 and $300-$400 for a carb plus whatever the fuel pump and pickup costs

If you prefer carbs, then thats the way for you to go. I don't think there is aything wrong with carbs I just like injection. F.I. also has a NOS plate system that bolts in between the upper and lower intake. My dad runs a carb on his stang and I run injection. Its what ever your more comfortable with. Carbs you change jets, injection you turn up the fuel PSI, take your pick.

im just looking for a easier upgrade, because i wanna build or buy a 347 or 331 this summer, and if the carb is easier to just bolt on and rejet, in stead of having to buy bigger ijectors again and again....i dunno

When you said that the plug was burning white, was that while spraying it or N/A? I had more done to my car and was fine with the stock injectors, but I had a bigger pump and a fuel regulator to turn up the psi a little. I also didn't spray the car. If you are trying to build the motor mainly for NOS, I'm not the best person to help you, but if you wana go N/A I can help you with any questions.

I agree with the others about staying EFI, but if you are set on converting, I have a Holley street dominator (single plane) intake here cheap. Its never been bolted on, but been around a while ;)

    HAHA.

I am with Balaska here. You need more fuel pressure.

If you wanted to stay EFI I would start by putting a new pump in it (255 lph $109), fuel PSI regulator and gauge ($120), and a new fuel filter because there cheap and easy to change. They are all fairly easy to change depending on your experience and tools.

You said that you had the heads shaved I am guessing that those are the stock heads. Do you know how much they took off and what compression ratio you have now?
