    AutoCrossing at Beaverun questions

Hey all, just looking for some information about the autocross at Beaverun. I have gone twice with the latest being last summer when there was autocrossing in the afternoon and flashlight drags in the evening. Tons of fun. I have checked out their website, and I really can't find too much info. I'm interested in going more often. Are there weekly autocrosses? Special events? What?

For those who do it often, I got around 20 runs last time I was there at that special event in August. It was well worth my $30. Roughly, how many runs do you get and how crowded does it get?

    Thanks.

There are supposed to be autocrosses put on this year on Fridays, with courses designed by Sam Strano. Dates aren't really set yet, there is still some goofiness with scheduling up there. There is one this weekend though at North Park, and SCR-SCCA has dates upcoming at BR and another venue in Washington.

Thanks for the information. I am interested in the Beaverun/Washington events because I'm either familiar/live close for both. Curiously, these events are open to anyone, correct? However, if I want to get serious, is there some type of competition where points/stats are recorded and carried over to the next events?

If you're in Washington, definitely check out Steel Cities SCCA's solo schedule. The majority of their events are at Beaverun but they also have a few events at Consol Energy Park like Mark said. So far, they have 10/8 and 10/9 on the schedule.

They are open to anyone as long as you can pass the minimal safety requirements. SC will give you a registration discount for each event if you're an SCCA member. Same goes for North Hills if you join NHSCC.

SC does both PAX and class standings from a point system based on where you finish each event. I believe NH also has a point system based on finish in class but it also involves points for attending meetings, being a chairperson for an event, etc.

Forgot to answer another one of your questions:
Last year, Steel cities did 4 heats per event, split up into 2 in the morning and 2 after lunch. You'll usually get three runs in one of the two heats and then work the other. Same thing for the second pair of heats.

So 3 runs in the morning, 3 runs in the afternoon equaling 6 runs per day. Correct?
