I know everyone makes fun of Maaco but there is a Maaco in Akron Ohio that can really put down a nice job for cheap. I do all the body work myself and even paint the door jams with rattle cans.
You get what you paint if the body work is nice and orange peal free the paint will look like glass. Not all the Maaco's are the same some put out some nice work. They use a primer sealer first then the paint.
By the time I buy the sealer and the reducer And I think the sealer takes a hardener also. Then buy the paint and the reducer and the hardener I'm at about $475 or more. And now You still need to shoot the paint Why do it ? These painters are painting a few cars every day and they are sharp. Mine comes back bug and dirt free and when I block sand the car first it looks like glass. Dose it look like 3,500 paint job?
Nope but it looks darn respectable for a driver. I have had a lot of questions at the cruize ins and usually they think I'm kidding when I tell them it's Maaco job.
The trick is to take a few extra hours and do it right. When I'm all done
I usually take one extra day to really pick at it and do a nice finish sanding
400 grit lightly wet sand the whole car. Or have someone get it ready for you. I take the car 275 Mi to have it painted. It is worth every mile.
And if you drive it there and get any rock chips or bugs they will work it out with you for a few extra bucks.
The dirt free paint booth and then baking it makes all the difference in the world.
I'm not the only one that brings a car from out of state to this place I see other nice stuff from surrounding states.
This is the one on Waterloo Rd.
