Rhino Liner, LineX or DIY Kit for bed liner???

Hey I'm thinkin about doing a do it yourself bed liner kit. My question is have any of you done this? what product? has it held up? I'm tryin to decide on weather to do it myself or pay the $450+ for a Rhino or LineX. The bed will not see much abuse but will need to hold up to recreational use for toys and what not. Any and all advice will be helpful.

    Thanks,
    Matt

I did a do-it-yourself kit on the bed of my Harley F-150.... it was easy to do, didnt' take too long, and it turned out pretty decent.... Also, i used my truck in basically the same manner - hauling around my dirtbike.... so, for my purpose, it held up pretty good, but isn't going to take you regularly throwing tools, shovels, etc in the back if you end up doing that.....

My dad's work trucks have always had Rhino linings in them, and those things are amazing... absolutely indestructible... we would regularly throw the 6 ft. digging bar into the bed, shovels, and pretty much anything else .... and it wouldnt scratch, chip, or anything.... it actually feels quite rubbery.... and the finish is great...

Also, my uncle has had the Line-X put in his last 2 personal trucks, and I believe he's had the same experience as with the Rhino lining.... he isn't very harsh on it, but the fininsh is really nice...

I wouldn't hesitate one bit to put a Rhino Lining or Line-X in my truck... i think they look good and are insanely durable.... The do-it-yourself was OK, but not going to be near as good... but then again, its also 1/10th the price....

By no means will my bed be seing more than toys, camp gear and haulin parts so I'm thinkin a DIY would work but I'd hate to have to strip it cause it fails and then end up paying for a professional one.

For light duty like you describe a DIY kit will work just fine as long as you prep is well. I would buy a kit for an 8' bed and put it on a 6' bed so it's extra thick. From what I have seen on friends trucks, those DIY kits don't provide enough liner. Also i'm not sure if the DIY kits are UV resistant.

I got a professional one from Hurley's in Hickory PA. It wasnt' cheap but i believe he goes the extra steps to do it right. Comes with a lifetime warranty and is UV resistant. I would recommend him if someone is looking to get one professionally done.

UV protection isn't to much of a concern cause it will be tanneau covered most of the time. Its kinda one of those things where I hate to be cheap about it but if I can save some ching and it will work its worth it. I personally think I would be paying for a product that is well beyond what I will need if I go with a professional one.
