Wasn't there a question of these cars being able to handle over 750HP? Thought I read that somewhere, but can't recall. So bulk it up to handle the power and the extra power doesn't make any difference due to the extra weight. Like Shelby said though, "HP sells cars" and Shelby is a rich man.

Shelby's Super Snake Pkg's are not RWHP.

    800hp Super Snake Pkg - 15% = 680RWHP.

680RWHP is about the same as my street tune which cost me NOWHERE near $100,000.00 dollars to achieve!

Isn't it more fun that way? Don't get me wrong, I love the Shelby's. Just ain't gonna happen in my garage unless there really is an Easter Bunny or Santa Claus.

    800hp sounds about right :)
I plan on getting their by modding a stock GT500 next year but if you have the cash laying around, you could make some arguement for the Super Snake.

The May 2011 issue of 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords has an article comparing an equally boosted 2011 5.0 and a GT500, and at equal boost levels with a Kenne Bell 2.8H blower, the 5.0 makes more power than the GT500 at 12psi 650rwhp @ 7000 vs 616rwhp @ 6250 ) and 15psi (710rwhp @ 7000 vs 637rwhp at 6000 ). At 18psi the 5.0 would also make more power, but they're having problems with the oil pump gear getting eaten at that boost level. Soon there will be an upgraded oil pump gear available.

I'm curious to hear how long the stock rods will last in a 5.0 at those power levels, and I'm sure the clutch has to be upgraded to handle that power. But the point is that the 5.0 makes more power per the article. Pretty interesting read. Like I didn't want a new 5.0 bad enough already...
