A tuner got 391 sae rwhp out of a bone stock MT-82 version and then with a tune only the same car yielded 415 sae.

Joe I know you do your research well, but that seems a bit inflated to me. 415rwhp would equate to roughly 460-475 at the flywheel. I'm sorry but with just a tune I don't see how it is possible. Maybe if it was a diesel or came with a power adder from the factory but for an NA combination there simply isn't enough parameters to maximize in the PCM to obtain a power gain such as that. I know there may be more to gain in a new 5.0 due to the variable cam timing but I still don't see them gaining that much.

paul what you have to think about this is a 11-1 motor with very good flowing heads and dual knock sensors so i think adding some better fuel and thowing timing at it will pick up a good bit , ford even rates it differently for 87 than 93

Here is the link Paul. Got to watch what gear the pull is done in...

From what I have gathered its not uncommon to gain approx. 22-24 peak to peak from a stock to a tuned combo and then adding a cold air brings the peak to peak up around 30 over stock. Then when talking avg. terms some tuners are seeing numbers close to 30 for a tune only and 40 for tune and cold air combos. The avg. pull would be based off of a 2,000 - limiter rpm pull.

On a side note. We couldn't get the planets aligned for some pulls today Troy.

My car is going to the shop (StreetLeathal) on the 25, for some mods. I'll have them post up some bass line #'s on the dyno.
