    285/35/18

I am running 285/35/18's all around on 18x9.5 cobra r's I rub on lock when turning. What do you guys think about running a skinnier tire up front and what tire should a run? my rears a 11.22 section width and 3.92 side wall..

If it were me I would just install an 1/8" spacer and call it a day. Then again I had 315s in the front of my 95. Or don't turn to full lock. Or install rack limiters.

They are already sticking out of the fender wells up front spacers not a good option.. Not turning lock I could live with that I just did it to see if it would.. So no additional stress on the rack or font end running that wide up front?

285s are wide for the front. I'm running 265s on 9.5" wheels and might go down to 255s because my car is so low.

I'm going with 265's up front and 275's in the rear. Seems like 285's up front just arent cutting it.

I guess if you don't care about handling, you can run a narrower tire. But most of your problems are coming from wheel width, not necessarily tire width. A narrower tire will give you a but more space, but not as much as you think, a 255 will probably still rub. Just don't understand the issue with 285's on a 9.5, I had 315s (which run super wide, Hoosier A6) on a 10.5, and I had way more room up front than in the back. This won't help you much about rubbing on the inside, but the fenders on these cars stretch very easily. The 285s won't put any stress on the front end or rack, nothing to worry about. Remember 95 Cobra R's had a nearly identical size front tire from the factory.

I have a 94 that has 03/04 cobras 9.5width 315 rear and 255 front and still rubs at full lock. Had 275 on front and I thought 255 would be better no luck still rubs cause of rim being to wide plus the 255 looks like poop cause tire is pushed in due to rim width

Trim your wheel plastics on the driver's side...it rubs because smart ford decided to put a squared jutting into a round arch as there is a fluid tank infront of it....however if it was continuously round it would clear both the tank and the tire. Stupid.
